I know everyone will have a different idea of what is appealing to them, but to me this seems perfect. Limited pain and over in a few minutes

Is there a catch? Or something I'm over looking?

What is SWB ?
Shallow water blackout.

I find it hard to get the hyperventilation done correctly. That's the biggest catch for me.

Yeah that sounds like it, maybe having to do that for a few minutes might make someone give up or reconsider.

I've only practiced doing the hyperventilating laying down so if I were to pass out, I pass out safely. Yet I've never passed out while holding my breath.

I have lung issues though. Perhaps I just can't breathe deeply enough. Have you ever passed out hyperventilating before?

Well yes it sounds to good to be true. In the case you are becoming 100% unconscious for long enough you may be lucky with this method. To me perdsonally it's such a cruel method like drowning/suffocation and I would consider other methods instead. But it's up2you. I wish you all the best!

It sounds difficult to succeed with and I would just fear it failing, leading to more suffering.

This and a number of other methods are undesirable to me because I would have to do it at home, which would mean a high chance of either being found early enough that I would get 'saved', or my body being found by a friend.

I've considered this a couple of times. Hell I lived on a beach a couple years ago and considered it. I had a fairly decent opportunity when a hurricane was coming thru. But I couldn't do it. I've nearly drowned before. And was afraid I would be found to easily.

recently i've been thinking about combining shallow water blackout with hanging or suffocation bag, it's overpowered with full suspension hanging in my opinion - reliable and no pain
