There are two places where i can cbt: in the warderobe (partial) and on the pullup on the door in the entrance hall (full)
You probably already figured out why i dont want to do a full hanging, (besides having a fear of my feet not touching the ground) - it's because the first thing a person would see when they step inside the home is my dead body hanging. It's likely going to be my mother, and i don't want to give her a heart attack.

So my question is, is partial unsafe? I heard people saying it's less successful etc. Will it be more painful? Should I use a slip knot or some other? Did you know anyone on here who succeeded in partial?

Thank you in advance!

It's less successful because you can easily back out, with full suspension that is a lot harder to do, it doesn't have to be painful at all if you hit your sweet spot you'll be out in 5 seconds max.

If you combine partial with some drugs and Booze then it won't matter. You'll be gone in no time and non the wiser.

I saw post where OP woke up after losing consciousness during partial.

Also I read cases about full when people suffered for 2-5 minutes without losing consciousness.

So full can be very painful, but in partial you can wake up.

Quite a few people here have posted about partial failing because even after they go unconscious their body stands up as part of their survial instinct and they wake up. With full suspension sometimes people fail because someone hears them and they are rescued or may what they have tied to breaks. But if you are in a place where no one will hear you and nothing breaks, full suspension seems to work virtually all the time- I don't know of any other causes of failure, though a bad knot or a rope that doesn't slide easily enough can prolong the agony by a lot.

I was in a secure ward for a while, tied a ligature and was unconscious in seconds, if you do it right you don't have to hang. I was saved because of where I was but the staff said I was fitting but all I know is I felt peace.

Speaking from experience I've stood up afterbbalcking out and was semi awake albiet confused but eventually managed to undo the rope. Although it was just practice yeah you can easily back out of it.

If I were to do a serious attempt I would tie my feet to my hands to prevent myself from standing up or even undoing the rope.

From people who survived or were rescued?

Yea the way I see it being done for partial is that you get that secure anchor point. Oil up your hands, neck and floor. Do a kinda Superman forward leaning stance crossing your two feet while still kinda holding yourself up with your hands where it makes your legs set so they slide back so you don't or can't stand up when you make yourself pass out. I intend on doing it this way. Tho I guess it also depends on how high up your anchor point is. Full suspension just sounds fucked if your not able to pass out and can't stand up or do anything. I don't wish that kind of agony on anyone. I'm jealous of people with a better means for CTB

Thank you (and everyone else) for the response! Do you mind telling me what knot did you use and where did you place it on your neck?

My experience with partial is that the moment everything goes black (within 20 seconds), the panic starts to kick in. Or SI, whatever you name it. That's the moment I automatically loosen myself. I don't know how you pass this point, otherwise I wouldn't be around anymore. That's the thing with partial: you can easily back out when SI kicks in.

If I suffer, I suffer. Maybe I deserve it for the pain I have caused others and the pain that I will be causing others by CTB.

One interesting note is that partial hanging is the most common method of suicide in prison, and being in such a horrible environment seems to give people here more willpower to see it through. An interesting post from a former prison guard who posted here a few months ago said that he tried to duplicate this twenty-five times at home, doing everything exactly as the prisoners did, and it failed every time. He sat in the same position and had the knot in the same position and he could never get it to work- I believe his post, but I can't verify it obviously. This example shows how difficult it is to know if partial will work or not.
