I know someone who transfers dead bodies (I forget the job title) and they told me explicitly that they feel more impacted by the death of beautiful people than the contrary.

This is almost a part of the reason I want to die young while I'm still beautiful because then my death will be more tragic. I know that's fucked up and self-centred but I'm hoping some of you can understand.

It hurts that we are so shallow as a species and value people's lives more because they are beautiful, but I'm guessing it's just evolution?

Because we place way too much attention on looks. You don't even have to be dead for people to not give a shit about you if you don't conform. Look at how people who go missing are treated. Look at the Gabby Petito case. No disrespect to her or her family. What she went through was of course- terrible but it became a global news story. People at least do now reconise 'missing white woman syndrome'- where news and interest is incredibly biased towards a certain type of victim and other poor sods who go missing don't get a look in. We're really messed up as a society.

WIth regards to the psychological aspect of it. Not sure really but probably it's missed potential. Maybe people think the beautiful people of this world have more to give than the ugly ones! Lol.

I'm not really sure but perhaps it's because that people think, whether subconsciously or consciously, that beautiful people have a higher chance of recovering and appreciating life because of how easier they have it due to looks

We've been conditioned since birth to believe that aesthetically pleasing features are a sign of success, popularity and a standard that we should all strive for.

Society is more beauty and image based than they are people based. So, if the victim is a conventionally attractive person, this would spark immediate news stories. Not only that, but as many said prior, it's usually minors who would be treated first and ig that makes sense bc of statistics and whatnot. What irks me though is that there's a lack of attention and care to adults mental health to the point of negligence. Should the victim have been anyone on Sasu where the average ages are 20-60, then no one would bat an eye unless, once more, we were either famous or we were somehow seen as conventionally attractive. That, or they want to have good PR, which, good luck with that.

I guess it's because physically beautiful people are regarded as having more to live for than other folks, so their deaths are viewed as a waste and therefore more tragic.

Probably because humans are shallow. But in my case I never agree with suicide being tragic at all, instead I envy those who managed to cease existing on their own terms as they are spared from all future unnecessary suffering.

beautiful people receive more attention in life and in death. it's probably ,as you said, just because of physical attraction that's based on evolution

Sadly, a lot of people are shallow. When others see the death of a conventially attractive person they are quick to romanticize it and treat it as this huge tragedy. It's disgusting. You shouldn't let shallow pieces of shit dictate when you ctb. At the end of the day, you'll likely end up being forgotten about, no matter how beautiful you are. People only really give a shit about these things for a very short period of time before moving on. Only those who knew you would truly be devastated, and even that is not guaranteed. There will be no way for you to care about their reactions anyway, since you'll be dead.

Beautiful people are asumed to have it easy there fore if they ahve come to the point of committing suicide then it is seen as more tragic. Ugly, fat, disfigured people are understood to have an immediate struggle so it is easier to accept they want to die because it is obivous why they would want to in a society that is superficial and shallow.

I am ugly and I recognise that. However I don't think that "a physically more beautiful.person's death is more tragic" - I believe that most people who end their lives have been let down by society and that is tragic.

Its what the average human in the material world values. Doesnt matter about intent or personality. The average person values glamour/illusions and physical beauty. Thats why people get sad when young attractive people die. Doesnt matter if they were objectively evil people. Image is what matters to most people. Think American Psycho. People mostly just want a world of Pat Batemans

I didn't mean to imply that I thought that, but I was stating what I felt what others thought.

What I mean is people see a beautiful person as having a million choices in life. ones that require brains, beauty and stamina. But people who have poorly constructed bodies automatically have modelling and beauty related jobs out of the question. It is more understandable for them to feel defeated and as such the compassion for their tragedy is less. I'm not saying is is more just, just how that is how people think. The beautiful person is assumed to have failed despite having more options and so it is seen as a worse thing for them to endure and harder to accept. Again, not saying it is right. I think society is completely wrong in how it judges. I might not be explaining how I see it brilliantly bit I'm saying how people are judgning us for a decsions because of how we look, is wrong.

For the same reason a good looking person's achievement will be regarded as better the same goes for his personality, skills, perceived societal value and everything else that matters.

People have just more empathy/sympathy for goodlooking people
