The right to die movement seems reather non existent. We at best wisper about it at safe places, like this website. But there are no protests, no political pressure, no spreading of awareness.
Do you really think society will ever care if we don't advocate for ourselves?
They frame us as irrational madmans for trying to take our lives. They don't listen to our reasons and assume we are just compulsive and need to be locked up to cool down.
They completely ignore the reality of the nature of things like depression ans cptsd, assuming it's easily treatable. They pretend that every suicidal person has a mental illnesses, even though in many cases, we just don't have a life worth living, because of poverty, low social status, loneliness, chronic pain and countless other posible reasons.
They ignore us because of selfishness, because we don't fit into their pink glasses. Whether it's their idealistic ideology or religious belief about intrinsic value of life, it's incompatible with the reality we are forced to live.
Being trapped between the painful life and our fear of painful death is a horrible position to be. Yet they put us in it, by denying us the access to peaceful means of suicide. We have to rely on either painful or unpredictable methods.
I want a world, where I can say that I'm suicidal without being afraid of consequences. I don't want to be hospitalized, or have someone who never suffered like me lecture me about how "Life is though, but it's beutiful." or how it's "All just in your head".
I don't want being constantly adversed suicide helplines as if it was a magic pill, wheb they are known to be absolutely useless.
Most importantly I want as an adult have right for peaceful death, when I decide so.
