Phantom tripple crown

Been a few hours since my first dose after reading that long pamphlet. I've got some symptoms such as headaches, yawning and drowsiness (Although I suspect I may have trouble falling asleep on this med). One thing I noticed on the pamphlet is that I'm one of those high risk groups that could get worse at first before getting better. It made me wonder why they recommend them for suicidal people at all. Is it like a risk management thing? Like if we do nothing they'll kill themselves but if we try this they may not kill themselves? Also, I'm not sure if it's placebo or the meds working super fast but I feel weirdly numb....like even to the idea of killing myself. No fear no nothing.

they usually prescribe it to you and warn you about it if you're a part of that group, anyways in case of worsening the best thing would be contacting your psychiatrist urgently, lexapro is generally used with such thought in mind, they probably prescribed it to you because it's one of the best meds for depression even though there could be risks and if it's your first time taking any anti-depressants they're usually the first choice of medication, do be careful okay, if you notice getting worse tell anyone immediatly, and if the worsening persists do tell your psychiatrist, you matter.

as someone who took lexapro for a year or so, these symptoms are completely normal, specially the numbness and imsomnia in my case, best thing i did was trying different things to sleep, asmr, positions, stretching, etc, still it was hard sometimes, the numbness will probably go down some bit after sometime but don't expect it to disappear during use of the medication.

stay well!

i agree with the other user. if you start having an increase in suicidal thoughts on Lexapro or if the side effects become too much, definitely let your psychiatrist know. they can adjust your dose or try smn else.

some of the side effects you're experiencing right now may get better over time. apparently they're called transient side effects, as your body adjusts to the new med.

I don't mind the numbness, I prefer it actually which is probably not good but whatever. Also I wasn't warned at all lolol. My doctor just kept going on that this is all hormones (if you guessed, I'm a woman) and then wrote the prescription. I only know because I read the entire pamphlet for some reason. So far the thoughts haven't gotten more or less. I just think if I attempted now I probably wouldn't chicken out. So I plan to sleep in my siblings' room tonight

whatever works best for you is the answer, i personally liked it at first too but then it bothered me because it implicated with my relationship and daily fullfillment aswell, and yes it's not that great for your health.

i don't have much context about your situation and what implicated this type of thought process on the doc, and yes it could be hormones but it could be a whole lot of things too, i'd guess he thinks about your hormones because your young or something like that and a woman aswell but that'd be me guessing and nothing factual, Anyways sometimes is great to see if the professional who's taking care of you is actually helping you or not, be conscious of how he deal with you and treat you aswell as what does he thinks of your opinions on every matter, they're talking and conditioning you so your opinion is worth just as much.

it's okay, take things slowly, know that just by finding help and getting on meds you have made a huge leap torwards your improvement and that you're doing well so keep up with the good job!
