Discussion Why do some people harm people but others don't?

Why do people do that, if you have an idea please share.

I'm talking in the context of murderers, bullies and other things people do to cause harm. I always wondered why do some people who have had for example a bad childhood seek out harm on others but others don't.

Any responses would be appreciated.

I have the idea that for example a child who lived all his childhood between violence, beatings, insults etc etc etc etc
A child who did not experience love, will grow up resentful and one day will do bad things or maybe not, that's my idea, maybe I don't explain it well.

Empathy and stuff probably, also how they grew up and learned to interact with other people, also mental health issues. So many factors.

they're probably just continuing the cycle they were unwillingly subjected to. maybe they want to take out their feelings or feel in control for once.
