Preferring LWOP to death? WTF? I seriously do not get that.

I hate my life as it is, and would hate it even more if I were in prison for life.

I've always wondered- is it really the prisoners who are appealing the death sentences, or is it the attorneys?

Of course I wouldn't, being me that would be terrible. However, most people prefer some life to no life, and it's understandable, if you don't hate yourself and have trouble being alive.

Some educate themselves, even get a degree, make something out of nothing, able to read books and enjoy some music or the contact with others through letters. Of course those stuck in a box 23 hours a day - that's hard to understand, but you can ask the same for people living in horrible conditions outside. Surviving is above all for most.
"Anything is better than nothing" Elliott Smith sings, for most here it's the opposite, but most here don't know the feeling of living in peace with yourself, not having to be your worst enemy, or having unbearable physical pain.

I completely agree, what's the point of spending the rest of your life in prison with no hope for release, just to die 50 odd miserable years later. I'd just fast-forward and just do the dying bit.

I would say it has to do with most death row inmates aren't really suicidal or wanting to CTB. Not all of them at least though. The ones that do, try and fail, or sometimes, succeed despite the difficulty of CTB'ing prison with limited methods and resources while trying to hide their method of CTB'ing.

Idk but this reminded me to say something... I hope that Christchurch guy whatever his name is lives, and rots in a dark hole forever. They need to put him in an old school well, and seal it so no light gets in. He needs to live there with what he did for as long as possible. That guy is a disgusting human being.
