A lot of people for different reasons believe that life is inherently valuable, therefore you shouldn't take your own life. But a lot of these people haven't actually thought about the why to their belief in depth, so it's not always to make themselves feel better.

yeah, they're all sanctimonious. they come from the idea that all lives are worth living without ever examining how someone's life and situation impacts them. they dont understand how some situations aren't worth living, and they want to believe that they could never be in a place like that. i think it's some kind of denial

A lot of people just like to be morally superior. If they think they're saving lives they believe they're better than pro-choice people here.

naivete most of the time. deliberate ego boost the other bit of time. and rarely, they do it out of guilt if they think they're important enough to have made you feel that way.

I think they feel like they are obligated to tell someone not to suicide like how christians feel obligated sometimes to spread their faith. Suicide is 100% a bad thing to them and they grew up being told that and believing that, so them ignoring someone feels bad to them.

Society has the misguided notion that staying alive is more important than the quality of life. They also have the misguided notion that it is any of their fucking business whether someone does not want to live anymore.

Is it to make themselves feel better or what?
yes - the world is full of virtual signalers - the western world is a perfect example of it. half the population pretends to care about everything, yet if they, or a loved one has no experience in it, they do not give a crap about it

the other big reason, is that they cannot, nor be expected to understand. to them life is 100% precious, so they naturally assume that since they believe it, then every other person on this planet must as well, and anyone who disagrees with them is a bigot or deluded

They don't want to face the reality that life's a fate worse than death for some.
They want to stick with their assumption that life is basically a good thing. Despite all the evidence to the contrary. Having to face the true horror of this world is, understandably, something no one really wants to do.

Reminds me a few years back when I posted, on Snapchat, a message that was apparently vaguely suggesting I was going to kill myself, which wasn't my intention. By the time I realized and took down the post five minutes later (I despise suggesting I'm going to kill myself under my actual name), I had got three messages from some high school classmates, telling me not to kill myself and that life will be better and even suggesting that soon I can go out for social events.

Never heard from them again, even when I was attempting to be more social by starting chats with them. Obviously they have no obligation to converse with me, but that's what made it obvious - they will not care for you unless they feel there is a risk you will kill yourself. And when it appears you have temporarily recovered, they will go back to ignoring you again. Thus giving me no reason to live.

Just wanting some peace

Because they want others to suffer, all they want is for people to be tortured in this terrible, cruel and dreadful existence that to me will always be a mistake, to me anti-suicide is just terrible extreme cruelty, it's just so evil to me how they want others to feel the pain of existing and be tortured in this dreadful, terrible existence for as much and as long as possible.

I just find it so horrific how there is such a thing as anti-suicide in this existence so evil and dreadful that just never should had been imposed, the existence of life is the most devastating, terrible tragedy that just causes all this cruelty, harm and suffering all for the sake of it torturing existing beings with no limit as to how much agony one can feel. To me existence will just always be such a cruel mistake, to suffer in this existence is just the most terrible abomination to me and I always suffer from existing in this horrific anti-suicide world where so many just want others to be tortured, it's so horrifying how the torture of existing can continue for decades longer just for one to face the agony of old age.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

all this is my opinion. i think almost all humans have no understanding how bad pain or suffering can get , including me.

that pain is unbearable imo is supported by evolution and evidence of torture , and other experiences including my own.

just one example of many cold wind.

a month ago i was watching young healthy humans running from their cars to the store because it was cold and the wind was blowing and it wasn't even that cold. that shows to me that cold wind is unbearable.

i was out in cold wind walking to the car and i couldn't believe how bad it felt i couldn't tolerate another second outside so i got into the car. i couldn't imagine how horrible a torture it would be if i couldn't go inside and have to suffer like that every second for hours days . it wasn't even that cold but it fell that bad to me and with my luck i know i would remain alive for days or weeks or more. and i felt this unbearable pain with other types of pain.

Evolution created a torture chamber the brain making it worse every generation for hundreds of millions of years. the animals and humans that could not tolerate being in the cold a second longer did everything to get warm . others to which the pain of cold wind was bad but tolerable didn't get out of the cold fast enough and died sooner and so had less offspring. the longer surviving humans and animals had more offpring and these are our ancestors. to those which pain was the worst most unbearable worked the hardest to find food , water, shelter from cold etc.

i think almost all humans have no understanding how bad pain or suffering can get , including me.if they did they wouldn't think life is some precious gift and wouldn't tell people to accept suffering and continue to live. if they believed this they wouldn't advocate against suicide because they would understand that sometimes people want to avoid extreme suffering unbearable pain or extreme torture . they wouldn't allow governments to ban and criminalize all guaranteed suicide methods into crimes as they have like Nembutal, paying someone to shoot me , sarco suicide pod etc.

when i think about it logically to me pain is a billion times more intense more unwanted than pleasurable things are wanted or felt.

The constant worst unbearable pain outweighs the pleasurable things like eating food by a billion times.

if someone believes what i wrote above then every second i or they would be in absolute terror of life and falling into a trap of unending constant unbearable pain.

the constant worst unbearable pain is unbearable by a billion times worse than you don't want something to happen.

virtue signaling, and also because they believe that they can help give those people a reason to live. unfortunately, most of them arent good at helping
