Why did avicii kill himself with a broken bottle?

If he was young, good looking and with lots of money its probably a good guess that he was hated by a lot of people even in his family many must have resented his success and envy him, and a great many would want something from him. I believe he could easily get women but would never find a woman. I guess alcohol and drugs were just ways to cope with his reality.

He had a lot of mental health problems, and I'm assuming he was pretty fucked up the night he ctb'ed. I doubt this was premeditated, even though he likely considered suicide often. My guess is he was in an impulsive mood and just lashed out at himself in the most aggressive and convenient way possible. I know what that's like. I have a really sharp military dagger in my bedside table that I often think about stabbing myself with, even though I would never do that in a rational mood.

this just shows how different people can be-some are more impulsive, others have to think out every step....I am so rational that I would never, ever even do anything to harm myself until I am 100% sure I want to ctb and then do it.
It must have been a terrible and painful death for him.

Well Robin Williams hanged himself with a belt due to apparent money problems, from what I read at the time. I think some rockstar's wife recently hanged herself with her neck scarf a few years back....but I don't want to name more celebrities, there's a thread here for that already.

I guess they're human like the rest of us, and impulsiveness, as people have said here, won't discriminate how some people, even the rich and famous, choose to end it.

He was probably under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He also had bad health issues and from that his mental state may have suffered and he may have decided then he wanted to go but due to possible lack of items around him, used the bottle.
