This is something that has been on my mind CONSISTENTLY. The world is overpopulated and climate change is coming faster than people realize. Then there is the matter of human organ shortages around the world. People sell their organs on black markets and shit is bad when it comes to needing a new organ and some countries are straight up killing the poor for their organs.

Why can't we volunteer as people who no longer wish to live, go to the hospital to be medically induced into a coma where we can then donate our organs.

Just because the brain stem is still intact and it's voluntary I think is a far better option for everyone involved. People who need the organs and WANT to live have a much higher chance of receiving their transplant.
No one's family or a stranger is going to have to find them in whatever aftermath you've done.
You get to actually say goodbye and know you might be saving someone at the same time...

As long as there's religion, unfortunately I doubt such a world will ever exist.

That and biology. Since humans are so hard wired to survive and given how old survival instinct is (possibly as old as the existence of life on this planet) it's just hard for most people to imagine there's a way out. It kinda mind fucks with normal people in a way like since they're so hard wired they can't believe there's this open door that could end all your suffering. Killing yourself is a frightening proposition and it takes a lot of courage and will power to finally snap and cross that barrier that biology holds us back. It's hard to let go of life which is all we know almost like ego death. We're too trapped.

Unfortunately, at the moment there is more money to be gained from forcing people to remain alive against their will, even if they are little more than a shambling corpse anyway, than allowing them to die with dignity. The dead don't pay taxes, nor do they consume the latest corporate sponsored products.

Think of all the people who are basically vegetables, in a brain dead state, comatose, not conscious, not capable of doing anything, only "alive" because they are hooked up to a machine in some hospital. They are probably charging the family thousands a day for that "service". And their family members are too blind to understand they are already dead even if their heart still beats.

Also, most humans can't get any enjoyment out of torturing a corpse. A lot of why people force others to remain on this shitty planet is so they can get a sense of enjoyment out of causing them suffering.

Many people live under a delusion that life is always worth living, they live in denial of the fact that things can get that hopeless that one would consider ctb. Therefore those who want to ctb are dismissed as always being irrational. However in a world as horrible as this, I see wanting suicide as being perfectly rational, to me it makes sense wanting to escape decades of pointless suffering. It is cruel how we are denied the option of a peaceful exit.

I have to agree.
Unfortunately society thinks it's unethical to end your life.
Well, what it could be versus what it was versus what it is.
This is so pointless.
We're ignored, we're blamed, we're lied to, we're lied about, our lives are crumbling right when we try to put them back together, people continue to be greedy and selfish and destroy that, they continue to lie and "laugh" where it's not funny.
Some people have a desirable existence and others we are just so fucking hurt in general.
We try to please ourselves and help others and we are repeatedly shut down and blamed for other peoples behavior.
