Saw that a suicide scene in 13 Reasons Why had to be cut for some reason and I just don't get it. Surely the families of murder victims could be triggered by murder scenes too. Especially in crime shows which is basically torture porn in a lot of cases.

There is or was a mini-movement of families of murder victims who are against treating murder as entertainment. They particularly objected to those weekend parties with a staged detective scenario trying to find out who killed Ms Scarlet in the library with a garrote. Why not treat rape that way, they wondered. Or suicide.

They think impressionable will see the scenes and then try to kill themselves. Like it'll give them ideas or smth. Anything that includes suicide in any media is always immediately said to encourage people to commit. Idk, I agree it's weird. Especially since it's come out that plenty of serial killers have been inspired by horror/violent movies & stuff, so... There's no real difference.

Because the present society has brainwashed everyone that suicide is bad, they don't want to encourage people to do so. As for detailed murder scenes, it isn't suicide and i guess its just a movie, so its not bad. This is wrong, though. Killing someone is much worse than killing yourself. And even detailed murder scenes also have the possibility of encouraging people to do so. Its strange.
