I've read scientific articles supporting the possibility that we are reincarnated as new people when we die (e.g. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/...112/evaluating-the-evidence-reincarnation?amp ).

Assuming that reincarnation is real, who or what would you like to be reincarnated as in your next life?

Considering how shitty this life has been to me, being reborn with a set of loving parents anywhere in the world would be enough for me. I feel like I never had a chance to succeed in life because my parents isolated me so much when I was little and never let me develop proper social skills. So being born to parents who actually know how to love and parent would change everything.

Part of me would like to be reborn as the grandchild of my former therapist. My relationship to her was the best, safest, and most loving relationship I ever had. It would be an honor reincarnate as part of her family and get to see her and know her again.

Or maybe it would be most pleasant to be reborn as a cat in a rich person's household. Being a human is way too freaking complicated.

To me, reincarnation is just a fictional concept invented by people unable to come to terms with the true meaningless and insignificant nature of existence. I could never believe in it no matter what and the thought of such a thing existing is horrific to me. I wouldn't like to be reincarnated as anything, I just wish for permanent non existence but if I had to choose, I would choose to be a cat who just sleeps all the time.

I don't really know if I'd be too delighted to come back. But if I really had to choose, I would perhaps choose a flower that would never be trampled or a small animal living peacefully in the forest far far away from humans and civilization.

Reincarnation is just a further attempt to believe that life continues in this world after we die. We have one identity NOW and then we cease to exist. Its tragic to witness humanity talking along the lines of an omnipresent god. Buddhism has it's belief system linked to reincarnation but it does not state how humans reincarnate. I believe we return to nature and then our carbon remains evolve into other life forms, for example, oak trees.

A beautiful woman (I'm AMAB with gender dysphoria) in a first world country born to liberal, loving parents that don't seek to emotionally abuse me and raise me to think I'm nothing without them.

I'd like to be stronger, more confident, and not have crippling anxiety in that hypothetical life. Above all else, I'd like to do what I want and be happy.

Maybe I'd start a band, cosplay, learn new languages, travel the world, take up scuba diving, and become a digital art hobbyist while I'm at it too.

I thought about this recently, my first thought was to be born a house cat, but then I realized that cats can also suffer and grow old and die.

After this I understood that I want to be reincarnated as a small stone or cobblestone, because it feels nothing. I don't want to be even flower which possibly can feel something or suffer especially when grow. Stone is the best option for me.

I like your ideas; I'll add them to my list of desirable reincarnation lives.

I love oak trees- that would be good enough for me. I think some people even get burried in wicker caskets with a seed to grow from their nutrients. ❤

Honestly, I hope there isn't reincarnation. Still, if I had to choose- maybe a honey badger. They are utterly fearless. Would be kind of nice to live kick arse fearcely for a while.

That, or a water droplet maybe- get to travel around in different forms and enjoy the view without feeling any pain or having any responsibilies. I could even make up a rainbow for a fleeting moment. 🌈

Ha ha- I thought about this possibility too... Thing is- presumably I wouldn't be able to smell or feel cold or hot. (Suppose I wouldn't be able to see either though...) I reckon some sewer networks are pretty fascinating. Especially Victorian ones... I love that whole urbex thing. I'd probably feel a bit squemish going through someone's digestive tract...

If I could still see, I think it would be a fascinating journey...

I'd HATE to come back. That has been my biggest fear and nightmare and one of the big reasons I have stopped myself from completing before.

I would choose being born into a loving caring non toxic family, not having mental problems, having a supportive genuinely caring family is very important in how it shapes you as an adult. I envy people who have loving parents and family who would all do anything for them and are there emotionally & in all ways. My family is a big toxic mess.
If I could choose any other I'd maybe choose to be some kind of bird, flying looks peaceful.

Some of the others have already said this, but yeah, me too: a loving supportive family and a happy childhood. I think that most that have those will be able to cope better with life and succeed at it. It's not just a cliche when they say a strong foundation is best, I believe. I used to be so jealous of those with happy, stable childhoods.
