Hi SS members,
I sent my form for euthanasia today.
I fell calm right now.
After sending them, i went in a park to do some yoga.
I was feeling really calm. As if nothing bad could happen anymore.
I was watching Suicide Room movie and drinking alcohol.
I feel kind of at peace with my request.
I know that they will contact my GP and specialist now. I fell heard in a way.
One the other hand, it is a little scaring because I don't take this decision on an impulse.
I am still not sure that it is the best solution but I trust the system.
I know that a requirement for mentally ill people is to try any kind of therapy so I expect the process to be long.
I am currently doing DBT and maybe trauma therapy in few months. I need to quit benzodiazepine before and it will not be easy.

I wonder if someone is in this process and how they fell?
Fell free to express any kind of thoughts.
I wish you the best.

I had no idea you can do it here if you're not terminally ill! Really interesting. Could you tell a big more about how it works?

Maybe I would've considered doing that if I knew, but now I have it in my own hands.

I'm glad that you feel you can trust the system. I hope they don't fail you.

You can do it but the chance to get it is really low apparently because it has to be unbearable suffering which is delicate to state in psych.
I filled a form online and then sent the detail of my GP and specialists.
They will discuss together.
Then, I will discuss with the specialists from the clinic. It is all I know so far.
You can find a little documentary about Aurelia Brouwer. She got euthanasia in 2018 after 4 years of process.
Also this thread seems to be a good source.

To be honest, I guess I will not have it now. But I wish to be clear that when it will be enough, it will really be enough even if my life is ok.

Thank you! That is very brave of you to go through such process. I can't even tell my psychiatrist I'm suicidal.

Wow, 4 years... I couldn't wait that long. Must have been tough waiting for the possibility to die for that long. I'll have to watch the documentary!

Well whatever way it goes, I wish you good luck!
