I wish I was more savvy concerning German grammar. I can speak very well and many people complimented me for my language. But I have some issues with writing. I struggle with a certain grammar topic and I struggle with punctuation. I just feel stupid because of it. I train it but it does not get much better.

I am quite good with other language related topics but I am just not made for these. I try to improve. I am average. Maybe slightly better than average. But not really good.

Other skills would be.
Better social skills.
Talking with women I have a crush on without getting psychotic.
Earning money but this is not a real skill

Maybe social skills, but I am not sure if that would help me at this point. I am in a god forsaken city with no contacts nor friends. That would help probably also with women but I am just not an interesting person, so I guess I will be stuck with my wife which is a loser like me... a really nice couple.

Having money so I do not have to work would be nice. I would stay on my couch all day waiting to die of natural cause. Maybe I would take a walk in the forest from time to time.

Yeah I suck at FPS, never manage to play one... I am a bit better at simple RPG like Skyrim or Fallout.

Yeah I'm awful at FPS! I still lose patience with RPGs since my memory isn't great. It sucks, I just struggle to get into any game that needs any kind of skill except for poker which I'm just about average at

Maybe being good at art like drawing, or being able to concentrate better. I always get distracted whenever I try to focus on something. I've never really been good at anything

Better computer/technical skills. I feel like I missed out on learning anything technology related do to lack of resources- & I struggle with learning new things that aren't super basic. I struggle with basic math as well & wish I was still good at math like I was as a kid- but it seems I've forgotten a lot of skills that I can't seem to re-learn no matter how hard I try.

I would love to be able to draw, but it's just not fun for me at all. All I can think about when I try to draw is how much my hands hurt.

In a wider sense, I've always been bad with fine motor skills, so I wonder if that has something to do with it.

I would really love to be able to speak French, but I'm terrible at the accent. Also I'm creative but terrible with science and tech.. meaning I'm sort of good at photography, but couldn't ever do it professionally as no one has ever managed to teach me how to use a proper camera. I'd like to learn to do that.

I would love to be better at art most of all. I would also love to learn coding, and to make music. Making music seems like it would take a long time for me to master, at least making amazing music. I would also like to be better at making decisions, I am very indecisive and when I do end up making a decision I often regret the decision. Also recognizing who I can trust

What kind of coding? I'm a full stack developer, maybe I can point you to the right direction, something fun and easy 😺 Do you have any projects in mind?

Ahhh that's amazing!! ❤️ I admire you lol~ Well, I know next to nothing about coding tbh. I've only done a bit of HTML coding when I was younger and I really enjoyed it, but I barely remember anything. I don't have any specific projects in mind. What do you recommend starting out with? :o

Yep, I can definitely help you out there! 😊 Feel free to hit me up if you need any assistance. I used to tutor my friends in programming, so it's no biggie - it won't inconvenience me in the slightest.

Programming is one of those skills where you learn by doing, you can't just absorb it from a book. It's always helpful to have a project in mind. I can give you some beginner ideas, starting with something super simple, and I'll be there to help if you get stuck. The most important thing is to have fun! This shouldn't become a chore or a stressful activity. Remember, programming is challenging and everyone struggles with it, even I do after making it my job for fifteen years. Frustration is normal, but you can't take it personally - it's part of the trade.

I might pick something easy and graphical for you, like P5.js. You can open the editor online and start coding right away - it's just simple JavaScript, very well documented, and the skills are super transferable. There's this guy who does a lot of small, fun projects with it. He might be too energetic for my taste, but he genuinely loves it.

So maybe you could start there? There are also examples in the P5.js editor, under File -> Examples. You can just pick something and play with it, trying to change things and see what happens. Search for "Hello" keyword for some easy ones:
1713863087209

And if you want something concrete to do, you can try to make a square moving on the screen from left to right. And then it can bounce from the sides back and forth. Let me know if you need any help!

Yayy!!! Thank you so much for all of the useful info and offering help 💙 I'll make sure to ask you if I have any questions, I really appreciate it. Whenever I scrounge up enough motivation next I'll definitely try it out, I love that you can open the editor online and get started right away. Something about coding is so satisfying and fulfilling to me, and I like using the technical side of my brain and solving things (although I rarely do that lol) thanks again for all of the resources vak!! And taking the time to type everything out :) excited to hop on my laptop and give it a go, maybe it will help me to not rot in bed as much lmao

Sure thing! If you're curious, I'm sure you'll love it. There's so much fun to be had 😺 I'm always here to help when you need it 👍 We can also find a way to merge it with something you really love, making it even more enjoyable for you. We could work on a project that aligns with something you already enjoy.

You could probably start with practical books about sales. These books usually explain human biases and say how people can be manipulated.
That way, you will learn how people can lie to you.

I would also love to learn coding, and to make music.
I could also help you with that. I am familiar with coding in general, operating systems, web development, and some hardware-related programming (FPGAs)

My recommendation would be to start simple. Do not overcomplicate it.
I would probably start with a general tutorial on a programming language like Python on https://www.codecademy.com/ (I have not checked this site in about 10 years; it used to have small tutorials where you could learn about a programming language concept through a series of small exercises)

I agree with @vak that you should probably pick some kind of a goal/project that you want to implement and that you also need to learn by doing (similar to how I recommend picking practical books on sales). I guess you will also be more motivated to learn coding this way 🙂

Feel free to ask me any questions

I think it's hella cool btw that it's been your job for 15 years, you seem passionate about it ❤️ thank you for all of the help <3 it means a lot because I had no idea where to start before. That would be great! I'm really interested in video games, art, cats and cute stuff haha. I'm not sure how those could be incorporated but it would be interesting to try

Gahhhhh thank you!! 🫂 the idea about reading books about sales seems interesting, I might try that out someday. A lot of the times it's very hard for me to tell when I'm being manipulated so it would be really nice so I can protect myself in the future.

That's awesome!~ those seem like really useful skills ♡♡♡ Starting simple is a great idea, I imagine going too fast into more complex stuff would hinder my learning. Oh yeah! I remember using code academy in the past, I haven't checked on it in years either lol. I'll try to make small obtainable goals for myself at first to keep me motivated and feel like I'm making progress. I'll make sure to ask you questions I have as well :) ❤️ Thank you for the response~ I always enjoy hearing what you have to say whenever I read your posts

I have literally infinite ideas 😹 I can feel you on video games, cats and cuteness, so ideas write themselves. So your project ideas generator is right here as well when you need it. That's all super easy for me to work with.

I think it's hella cool btw that it's been your job for 15 years, you seem passionate about it
It's one of the things in my life that remain constant, maybe you could call it passion 😊 But it's comforting to me actually, something I know and understand in the world. I think we all need something like this in our lives.

Music and drawing skills are what I'd like the most but that takes too much practice that I just have zero patience for. Besides, no one wants to actually hear music being practiced out loud. It sounds really bad at first especially for brass or drum instruments.

Although talking to women I like also ranks pretty high up there for me…
