Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I think the answer can vary.

There is a woman from Austria/Germany who inherited 25 million Euros and she donated 90% of her heritage.
If you like to read more about her here is the wikipedia article but you will need a translator.

I think that many rich people don't have such a relation to money. However, I don't have much money. I assume it is a form of status. A mean to achieve one's goal. Something like the dick size just on another leve. And something that can be shown. Used to buy influence, for manipulation purposes, in order to steer nations and societies...

It probably also varies amoung countries and cultures.

There is also a trend to gain a certain altruistic image by donating parts of your wealth. Some people use money to brag with it. Some people use it to improve their image.

Something I ask myself. If you have a couple of billion dollars what do you think when you look at pictures of starving children? Or when you see statistics how many people are homeless in your country? These people are probably detached and see life as a lottery. (Or they think life is a meritocracy and they actually earned their wealth by being the smartest, best looking etc.)
They don't ask themselves ethical questions about inequality. Why would they? They only had a guilty conscience over it. It is easier to fade it out. And they also don't come in contact with such people. These people are not part of their daily life. You could also ask me why I never donated to starving children in Africa. And instead I import cheap products from China. I could potentially save lives. But in a narcisisstic way I prefer to enjoy a new gift to myself.
