Hi, I'm new here but I've been reading threads for ages and finally decided I'm ready. Only thing is I'm really really thick and need help with methods. Obviously the partial suspension seems easier and less painful but I don't have the will power to not lift myself up etc. Could I just hang a few inches off the ground? I'm not good at maths so I don't understand all this full suspension stuff where you need the right rope for your weight etc.

So if I just lifted myself a tiny bit of the ground would I still need to calculate my weight and rope etc? I just want to do it NOW but I don't want to do it wrong and drag it out!! I see too many people fail as partial so any help I will appreciate!! I'm about 5,7 and 9 stone I think

Can you use the metric system like everyone else? You wanna rope that won´t break under your weight if you are heavy and in my experience I would prefer a noose for partial hanging since it won´t unbuckle and I can link you a video below of how to tie a good anchor too.

I don´t see a lot of people mentioning these things since a slipknot easily unbuckles and never any questions about how to anchor the rope but here you go. But if you are using a scarf pretty much any knot will work occording to my research; it seems almost half of hanging suicides is used with scarf and they tighten real tight where as even thin rope like I have 10mm will unbuckle in a slipknot.
