Putting price aside for now, what do people make of the argument that because argon is more dense, it'll sit by your mouth, toward the bottom of the bag? If you're using a NRB mask, would argon vs nitrogen make a difference?

With each breath, gas turbulence is generated so the enclosed gas environment will remain well mixed. The is really no difference between the 2 gases For Exit ; however, the flow rate needs to be adjusted downwards. Full calculations are provide on my blog.

Thanks, @Greenberg. Another question, for anyone: I expressed anxiety that a NRB mask could let oxygen in if it doesn't fit your face tightly enough and someone with medical experience said not to worry, that those masks "are used to mix gases all the time." Does that mean it *will* let oxygen in? If the flow rate is steady at 15 Lpm should I not worry about it?
