I'm 21 and live with my parents. They've been through my room before and ended up taking my ropes from me..twice. Once my rope was hidden in my desk drawer and another it was hidden in a suitcase in my room. I don't know why they found my ropes, but it pisses me off. They also go into my car and drive it a lot too, so I can't hide it there. Anyway, given the difficulty I've had with hanging I'm leaning toward shooting myself instead. I probably won't have difficulty getting a gun because I've never been actually hospitalized, I've only been in the like psych ward evaluation room I guess if that's what it's called. Anyway, I would love to get a gun I just don't know where on earth I'd hide it..my mom goes through my room a lot and "cleans"..I think she's suspicious. Any ideas?

Do you enjoy photography? I noticed that the gear used with high end DSLR looks a lot like gun parts sometimes, you could use one of these photography backpack filled with DSLR stuff, and dissasemble your gun and hide the parts inside.

For example

The day you decide to ctb, say you're going outside to "take a couple shots". /badhumor

Other than that, I'm not american so I never thought about hiding a gun.

Good luck.

If your Mom is already suspicious I wouldn't hide it anywhere in the house. Put it in a box & bury it somewhere outside.

I read somewhere that someone hides it in their guitar case, but if your mam checks your room then that idea is out the window... could u hide it in the attic/basement if u have one maybe? Any loose floor boards? One that pops up and slots back into place? I used to hide things in my floorboards, awesome spot lol..

There are plenty of places to hide anything. Google might be a better idea.

Lift up a floor board. Or put it in a bag, put the bag at the bottom of a potted plant. Or inside an aquarium.

Inside a computer tower is a good place if the people you live with aren't tech savvy. Or you could buy a safe.

Underneath the bottom drawer of a drawer unit, a lot of people would look through the drawers but might not think to pull out the bottom shelf.

Or you could go for the power play, hide it in your parents room somewhere. ^_^

They're busy searching your room, but not searching their own.

Are you old enough and have money to get a storage unit? The burying thing seems best. Are you near wooded areas? You've probably thought of everything. I don't think anybody has any "secret" you don't know.

This is just a suggestion but my friend put a deadbolt on her door because her sister kept stealing her money. Put a deadbolt on that door so your parents can't get in there.
And don't hide the gun in your parents room

He isn't going to get away with a deadbolt on his bedroom door if he lives with his parents.

Oh I'm sorry she put a padlock on her door. She could only open it if she had the key.

The book idea seems like it could work (assuming that your parents don't open each book or that book isn't suspicious), but more seriously, I would recommend any other place other than home. If you are able to find a storage place to store it then it might work and/or storing it at a gun shop (might have to pay monthly/annual storage fees if they do offer safekeeping). Also, if you have a trusted friend IRL and also doesn't know your true intentions, then you might be able to let him/her safekeep it. These are just some ideas, but only you know all the details and what is best. I wish you the best of luck in acquiring a firearm and finding a good place to hide it.
