The last time I can remember was in childhood, other kids thought I was funny and bold. After my childhood I can't really remember anything, but I remember plenty of negative remarks though. I guess I peaked in childhood, downhill after that.

When I was working on a project, I did something that Impressed myself, so I complimented myself. I then thanked myself for complementing myself.

Really can't remember. That's one of the huge problems I have with life. The fact that I feel so invisible and undervalued. I always feel like I'm so inconsequential that if I dropped off the face of the earth nobody would notice or care. That might come off as whiny but it does really bug me.

About 2 weeks ago, and it annoyed me. I (generally) dislike compliments because the majority of them do not feel genuine; not many people actually practice how they claim to feel with their compliments. It is always a generic phrase like: "Oh they are such a 'nice' person!"

...But this is what is said about virtually everyone! The word "nice" is thrown around a lot especially if someone dies. You start out being labelled as a "nobody" until you are deceased; then suddenly you were a loving father/mother, and you were "well liked". The same applies if you somehow gain high social status; then everyone had a class with you and everyone "knows" you - even that person who talked to you just once.

Professionally, I received a compliment that my feedback was helpful just this week; I'm still trying to internalize it, but it's difficult since I try to keep my 'self' separate from my work (and since I distrust compliments in the rare cases they are offered). I receive professional compliments more often than other personal / relational ones.

Outside of work.... the last compliment was three months ago from someone who went on to "ghost" me, where the ghosting undermined the compliment they offered (about being such a light in their life). While I distrust compliments more generally, this undermined one has echoed heavier than others and unravelled me. Compliments can be such a tricky affair!

Earlier today, when I woke up & saw a message asking me to ID two caterpillars & if they need help/were hurt. I think being asked for help espcially on something you care about is a great compliment. So much better than a forced "you're kind/funny." Also great compliment that the person wouldn't care about caterpillars if it wasn't for me rubbing off on the person. I want people to be kinder to every kind. If I can get people to do that, then that's the greatest.
