When is it really best to take the propanolol when using SN?

When using SN I've seen two different ways of when to take the propanolol. I just want to make sure I take it at the right time cuz dang it's a lot of powder once you crush up enough to equal 400mg ( hint try to get 20mg tablets not 10mg as that's 40 pills to crush as opposed to 20)!
I read some take it with the anti emetic, however I'd you take it before then is t this jus it going to slow your blood pumping as fast prior to taking the SN?
I just wanted to point this out that it really should be taken WITH THE SN, not before so the SN has a chance to absorb into bloodstream prior to preventing tachycardia (fast heart rate). The fast heart rate at first I believe would help get Sn into your system after into each RBC but then the propanolol will eventually kick in to drop blood pressure as it dilates blood vessels and slows heart.
I just thought I'd put this out there as I e read posts that are taking it with the antiemetic, and could be cause of failure as the body will eventually turn into nitrate and over ride the SN in the end.
Dang, how do you get 25g of SN and 400mg of propanolol down at once. Especially with 50ml of water??
I've got the worst gag reflex and am wondering how I'm gonna pull this off as it's my only method and failure isn't an option! I'm even doing phenerghan suppositories for nausea as one more way to stop nausea without taking it by mouth!
And for those who have tasted/took SN -is it really as hideous as I've heard or more like drinking ocean salt water?
Do you mix the propanolol right into the SN?
Planning on tomorrow. Reality is really kicking in and I'm praying my SI doesn't get the best of me as I'm too miserable to go on living (but if I wasn't so sick without a chance of getting better) I wouldn't be doing this. I have the worlds most incredible family and such amazing loving friends. I can't even bear to think about what my death will do to them. But no one understands how miserable I am. 20+ months of getting maybe 2 hours of sleep each night has taken its toll.. I'm just so exhausted and can't wait to get out of this body of chronic pain and suffering. (Almost 40 surgeries mostly abdominal and two brain tumor surgeries on my pineal gland, severed major nerves in my pelvis that required me getting a spinal pain pump that no longer works) There's only so much one body can take and I'm just done. Hardest part is me choosing to end things while
Watching my bro in law fight to live after getting his 4th transplant due to diabetes just weeks ago.

You can take just the SN , however are you are going to want to have anti nausea pills that are dopamine blockers as your body's reaction will be to vomit the poison you've ingested and most people do throw up which is why it's important to have the back up second and 3rd cup to drink of us and 25 mg each so it doesn't result in a failure. Propanolol helps ease the tachycardia/racing heart rate that can feel uneasy. Read the SN mega thread to learn more about it first . You don't want to fail doing this especially as SN is harder and harder to get!

A lot of people successfully ctb'd without AE, and sometimes vomit even after taking AE. As long as you're not found, and have extra doses prepared you'll most likely succeed

Take 25grams, and prepare the other 25 as well, in case you vomit.

The prop is to be mixed with SN, some people mix the first glass with prop and the second one only SN

Thanks! That's what I think I'll do. Take prop seconds before the SN as I don't think after the SN you'll wanna drink anything else. Also just don't take too much water as the more water the more chances of vomiting. How

Prepare two glasses each with 25 grams SN amd 50ml water. If you vomit then drink second glass asap. Be aware it kinda seems to weaken people so they cannot get up, have a waste basket to vomit in or even a bag in bed with you.
If your over 220lbs take more SN per chart that's posted on here.

This makes more sense to me bcz my heart will be racing from the sn so taking the propranolol 30 minutes after drinking the sn will combat my heartbeat . Anyone know ? Stans guide mentions propranolol but doesn't mention when to take the propranolol before or after or same time . 25g of sn and 400mg of propranolol in 50 ml of water will be thick and barley liquid form to drink I would think .

I highly doubt you'd still be conscious 30 minutes after sn. I took 15g and I was out within 15 minutes

I don't honestly know the correct answer to when the propranolol is best taken. In my mind I would say an hour to half an hour before the sn, so it has time to take effect. But that's just my thoughts

Now after reading this Im thinking of taking the Propanolol 45-60 mins prior as you won't be able to get anything down after the SN. I'll try to find the table that shows the avg of what happens but in 3 minutes you get dizzy and become weak and can't walk ….

thanks for your input . i am lost , i was thinking the same , take the propranolol 30 minutes or so before the sn . some say take at the same time mix in with the sn . hopefully someone will comment with the right answer. i was also considering taking the sn , wait until i am about to pass out , then put on the mask of n2 as insurance just incase i wake up from the sn . any thoughts on this method of using sn and n2 together . any input would be helpful .
i was also thinking what if the propranolol taken before delays the sn from working in the body correctly as it will slow down my heartrate

I just read this :

So it'd make sense To me to take it before the SN Atleast 30-60 minutes prior.
Thoughts? I know some take it with the SN, but if it takes an hour to work then you'll likely feel tachycardia if you take it with the SN. On the other hand, you take it too soon it'll slow down your blood pressure and take the SN longer to absorb!
Thoughts ? When would you take it as there's so much saying taking it with SN or before and now I can't decide what to do !
(I mistyped above it is 25grams of SN for each cup, some prepare Atleast two some prepare 3. From our knowledge no one survives after two cups of 25 grams even when found and medically given methylene blue.

yeah , i want the sn to hit fast thru my body . hopefully someone will add something to this thread. stans guide doesn't say take the propranolol before or same time . let's see if we get a definite answer from someone who knows . good thread to post by the way .

The PPH april 2022 hasn't done away with beta blockers, but went from 2 g to 400mg of propanolol. However they're so much conflicting when to take it as it says it could be taken with anti emetic then says take it with the SN drink. So now I am confused when is the best time to take it as too soon it'll interfere with blood pumping SN throughout your blood however if it takes an hour to work. Then taking it with the SN might not really be beneficial ! So what is everyone's opinion on when propanolol should really be taken ???

It says two different things on the two pages though
"The lethality of nitrite can further be enhanced by the concurrent use of a B-blocker like propranolol. 400mg (5 × 80mg tablets) mixed with the dissolved nitrite and taken in the same drink."pg 200

Note: Potentiation using Nexium (80mg) and propranolol (400mg) can be taken at the same time as the antiemetic. Pg 199

I think it's safer to take it a little bit too late than too early. In the first scenerio, sn will still work but your heart rate will be high which for some might be uncomfortable. That's the role of propranolol here - to calm down your heart, make things more peaceful. But it doesn't affect anything besides that in the end. With or without it, sn will work the same. The problems may appear if you take a big dose of propranolol too early. You might drink first glass of sn, then vomit and not be able to drink the second glass if propranolol makes you faint (it can happen with such a high dose like 400mg).
Please keep in mind that if you dissolve pills in the sn drink, that would speed up their absorption because your stomach doesn't have to break them.
Personally I'll only take about 60, max 80 mg of propranolol 45 min before sn, then dissolve 200 mg together with sn

I'm probably going to take 80-120mg propranolol with anti emetic/ibuprofen/benzos 1 hour before, then crush up the remainder in the SN drink for the 400mg total. I want some level of beta blockers on board before the SN kicks in so I don't panic with the tachycardia (hopefully).
