Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Hello everyone!
I've been thinking about this topic for a long time and i want to hear your opinions.
I assume most of us agree that cbt shouldn't be the first thing and that you should seek ways to cope and live.
So my question is when do you exhaust all your options?
People say therapy may take years to be effective, some say antidepressants and other drugs will help but you must stick with them for a while and it may take long time and multiple trials and stepping up into second, third and fourth line of treatments but in the end it helped them.
Some will say travelling or doing a hobby or adrenaline rushing sports or leaving your town or home or finding love etc.. you get the point.
I know it's different for everyone. Therapy will help some and drugs may others.
But how much should really be seeking and trying tho?
When do you say truthfully I've tried everything? Is it even possible?
When do you exhaust all your options?

In my opinion...

It really depends on you and your situation. You have to trust your own judgement and think logically about what your future looks like and if you want to live to see it.

No, to me it's really such terrible extreme cruelty how pro-lifers want to force others to be tortured in this existence, to me this existence is a mistake that never should had been imposed.

I'd never want to cope with this life that never should had existed at all, to suffer in this torturous, dreadful existence that just causes all this endless torture, cruelty, harm and suffering really is an abomination, it's just so horrific how existing beings are in agony every second as a result of this existence being so tragically imposed. It's just so terrible how humans cause all this torture by forcing others into existence, to me existence truly is the most terrible, harmful mistake and for me ceasing to exist would be the positive solution to find peace from all future unnecessary suffering in this existence that is just waiting to die anyway. All I want is peace from the torture of existing and for me every second is torture to be conscious, it's just so horrific to me how the torture of existing can continue for decades longer with no limit as to how much one can suffer just to face the terrible extreme agony of old age.

I know it's hard and it hurts to keep trying. I think as long as u CAN keep trying to pull yourself up and out of the misery that makes u want to leave this planet, then you SHOULD try. I think u should put every ounce of strength u have into trying to live a happy life. If the options are 1. Death and the unknown or 2. Trying anything & everything u can to be happy... I say try anything & everything.. why not?
I wish I had the energy to keep trying... I really do...
Sorry, I dont think I'm answering your question..
I'm sorry u r miserable. I'm sorry we r all miserable. It's all not fair.

I don't think it's important to try everything. For some people, there is no problem to try to solve. Some of us just don't like the fact that life will always bring suffering. Therapy and medication might fix a low mood and help someone get the life they want, but there's nothing that can stop suffering from existing. And suffering can be extreme, and we have no control over it. There's no need to try for some people if they don't want to gamble with this.

^ agreed.

there kind of always are options—but i wouldn't blame someone for not wanting to try them. that's my situation as well. i don't want to try therapy or antidepressants, even if i acknowledge they are options that may help me. objectively, it may be irrational for me to not try, but that doesn't change how i feel, and ultimately CTBing is my decision.

i'd say someone might exhaust all their options when they do have the motivation to try, try a few things, then run out of motivation to keep trying. but not everyone considers the options in the first place, so there's really no universal answer.

Maybe it depends on your situation. I don't think there's really a standard answer to this question lol. Like, if there are still things that spark your interest, you could try doing those. If you've already tried everything you were interested in and none of it helped, then maybe you could say you've exhausted all your options.
For example, for me, traveling is still something I'm interested in, but because of some big obstacles I can't really do it. And the other options just don't interest me. So I guess that's kind of close to that situation.
I hope you can find peace.
