The Theif and The Cobbler (every version/copy of it) (1992? the dates vary with each release) (if interested or curious all can be found/watched on YouTube)
very very very underrated in my opinion and one of my childhood favourites that I checked out if the library a plethora of times
I mean just look at this animation ! No one is doing this anymore !
and here's a good video essay on the film
I could talk about this film for ages (along with similar underrated animated films for example, Persepolis which is based on a graphic novel and The Rabbi's Cat which is also based on a graphic novel/comic)
love In Bruges, very few movies can make me laugh then horrifically sad.In bruges
the first time I saw this film I disliked it
but when I look back at it I think it's a good film not for everyone but good
I really liked the imagery used throughout the film too and how things were shot
It's funny how different taste we can have. I don't like any Kubrick movie except Eyes Wide Shut.Barry Lyndon. Maybe not underrated, but certainly an overlooked masterpiece by stanley kubrick.

What do you not like about his films? One thing that always bugs me is that his images are all so picturesque and well-crafted that it feels like the the only to them justice is to pause at every frame and stare at it for a whole 5 minutes just to soak it all in.It's funny how different taste we can have. barry is super long as well btw.
i guess they're just too heavy going .. Yeah I know he was a perfectionist and wanted to speak through every image sorta way. What do you not like about his films? You shiould give werner herzog movies a try, if you're not familiar with them already. He's on the same level of mastery as kubrick but with a style that is more subtle and down to earth, if that makes sense. Also, his view of nature seems to be heavily inspired by the philosophy of arthur schopenhauer, which should give his films an extra appeal to members of this forum. My favorite ones are probably his nosfrratu adaption and aguirre, the wrath of god.i guess they're just too heavy going .. Rat Race! one of my childhood movies, it fills me with nostalgia. was the first time i saw mr. bean on screen as well.I loved Persepolis too...
Rat Race 2001 for being ridiculous
Testament 1983 for being sombre
