ok i understand that the definition of a psychopath is a "bad" person but nobody ever considers that we actually do have feelings and sometimes even concern for others. maybe i'm atypical. i've never hurt animals or set fires or anything but i have made my share of mistakes and that is partly why i want to die. i have hurt people in the past and all i want now is for the remainder of my life to be peaceful. i try to never tell anyone what i am because their immediate reaction is that i must be a serial killer in the making. i have no friends and i don't really care anymore. yeah i'm wired differently but the last thing i want is to cause harm to anyone. just getting that out there..

Of course you have feelings, we're all humans.
I'm glad you haven't hurt any animals.
I'm not a psychopath but I've hurt people too. We all make mistakes.

Some premises need to be seriously checked, here...definitions are in order...especially before asking for "sympathy for the devil..."
(I mean, to even ask that on a suicide forum where many people are probably here BECAUSE of the actions of a psychopath...but then, that's probably something a psychopath would do, though, isn't it? Blame the victim, disassociated from their actions, with no shame or remorse...)

There are a number of psychopath, sociopath and related tests on idrlabs.com if you want to try quantifying it.

I always wonder if psycho/socio-paths ever become self-aware of what they do. And if they do, do they care at all? I learned today on Youtube about a Dark Empath. Empath with dark traits such as narcissism and psycho/socio-pathy.

Easy video:

Being aware is no problem. Psychopathy isn't an intellectual disability. The caring is the tough sell.

Can't recommend those tests myself, I've tried them and get some pretty silly results. I'm 100 % sociopath? M'kay. Other tests on that webside also say I have 0 % extraversion and 0 % feelings. Come on.

WTF?! Really?
who would ever think a suicide forum would be so serious?!
On THIS forum we gonna start splitting hairs about who's labelled what...really?
Is this the Fuckin 80's?!
baby; were all psycho-freak-horror-show-wierdo's here (yes even grammy in her wheelchair has a wounded child within that wields an axe and aint afraid to use it...)

Screen Shot 2021 03 27 at 202652

let's rather start telling each other apart by the reputable scale of who's:
a moron
an idiot
a retard
an imbecile

or if you're inclusionist like I am: we are all feeble minded - come on in; the water's warm (i just pee'd)

about this forum: don't take anything personally. they're only people.
i love all sociopaths / psychopaths - just ask the gallery of rogues that are my ex's...

- can't we turn this into a scoring game?? i think all of us would hit top of the charts!

Maybe you've reached your goal of 100% robot.

Okay, so maybe the results are crap, but the questions identify the kinds of traits that are linked to psychopathy.

The test is right in that if I had a relationship, I wouldn't have the patience babysitting my partner's well-being. If you had a whole string of partners like me you'd surely be pretty banged up by the end of it, and not just in the good sense.

Maybe you've reached your goal of 100% robot.
I haven't, which is why I'm saying the tests are nonsense. I enjoy tests like these and find them entertaining but to be any fun they need to have nuance. The tests on this website don't. In fact, most of them seem to be the same questions recycled in different combinations.

The amount of Harry Potter tests should prove the veracity of the page.
Haha, this is classic. Don't mind the OCD, if I had anything less than 100 % I'd be out of a job.

@Makko Imagine a job where you get fired if you don't score the correct winnie the pooh character made me laugh.

I'm sorry for the offtopic but I really wanted to take the test. It's true that there are recycled questions lol:

Except for the Difficult Person Test.
I posted that first, and it looked nice, but afterwards I explored the site more and was disappointed. I mean, Winnie the Pooh test was fun but for the wrong reasons.

I remembered that I have a better test (220 questions) lying around as an excel file but apparently I can't attach excel to posts here. I'll post the test once I figure something out.

A lot of people lead ordered lives and invest both time and money into minimizing risk. Many jobs revolve around the latter. A lot of cheerful optimism heavily relies on the belief that some catastrophe won't occur tomorrow. Even the concept of catastrophe is kept at arm's length. There are tons of institutions established solely to keep the chaotic, unpredictable side of life sealed off. It's cheaper in the long run and much more satisfying to the tribal mind than giving a damn. Let's be real, every person who considers these issues deeply already has a poor prognosis for their mental wellbeing. Freedom of thought is actually really dangerous anywhere outside of infantile idealism, because we're not just a brain in vat, protected by bubblewrap. You don't really go questioning things like empathy and its relation to worth in society. At least not in any serious capacity. I may be wrong but it seems like that's what you're pointing out. The lack of people who can see past those perceived flaws?

To answer the main question - psychopath is synonymous with affinity for violence and yes, most will avoid it. You definitely know this, so I am guessing you're asking for reassurance about your true nature. I feel like I've been there and it's just shouting into the cosmos so far.

Here I am hoping you have better luck with that.

Psychopathy as measured in prison and forensic psychiatry settings is not the same as ASPD. The majority of criminals in prison have ASPD but a significant minority are psychopathic. Psychopaths are hated because their personality heavily correlates to a lot of harmful behavior.

Where did you get the idea that you're a psychopath exactly?
literally everyone who has ever known me. as well as other symptoms
Someone can label themselves as whatever they want but their labels don't absolve them of responsibility for their actions. People should be held accountable for the harm that they cause to others and I don't believe that I'm obligated to like anyone if they do those types of things.

I don't think that there is a distinction in the DSM-V, then again that book of pseudoscience is completely worthless in reality.
from what i understand, psychopaths are born and sociopaths are made.

wow. so psychos can't be hurt by others and neurotypicals are always innocent... so i'm the devil? i can't be suicidal because i don't fit in and yes others have been cruel to me. you are quite judgy. go play your judgeridoo

There's zero chance that you have a clinical diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder.

"I'm a psychopath/sociopath" is one of the most common, baseless claims of teenagers who struggle with their emotions. Probably because it's seen as less "pathetic" than the actual issue.

Psychopaths, by definition, are not perturbed by what people think of them.
