I've now had a family member get really nasty to me in my face for crying daily and being honest about how I felt. The idiot even had the nerve to tell me that my problem is that I haven't suffered ENOUGH in life yet. Imagine that.

Then today this guy calls me up and starts the conversation with "are you still trying to kill yourself? Grow up. BTW I have this work I need done and I wanna hire you."

Like what the actual fuck!?

Me either. For the family member, the list of ridiculous things they said to me can go on and on. Worst part is they have kids. What kind of life they will have I cannot imagine.

Family have different reactions to people who are suicidal,my mother would tell me to pray 5 times a day and be a good muslim even though i told her I'm an athiest,my brother just told me to stop being weak when I told him,but you shouldn't be surprised at different responses,you never know if they are also at the edge and are trying not to kill themselves and are telling you the same thing they tell themselves.

That is just so horrible and insensitive, I just don't see it as a good idea opening up about wanting to die in the first place. Humans truly are the worst species to me with how they just create more suffering.

I feel you. My mother learned about my suicidality through my school counselor a couple years back and when the topic comes up, she always starts off trying to sound reassuring, but when her couple of words doesn't immediately cure my depression better than years of therapy and medication, she starts going on a tirade about how pathetic people like me are because she has a mortgage to pay off and does overtime at her job and isn't suicidal but we who apparently have it so good are. Like okay landlord parasite, go on and tell me how making paying off your debts using your tenants paychecks is the greatest struggle of the human condition.

It's all just an a sort of petulant lashing-out.
