Wondering how open I can be about plans or lack thereof, without risking getting committed back into psych ward.
Im in psych hospital as I type due to telling my therapist at my Eating Disorder Program my suicide plan. I highly suggest not doing that, unless you are seeking help. Personally I was not seeking help; I just have hard time keeping feelings to myself and I started bawling and broke the fuck down. Now I'm getting kicked out of my PHP eating disorder treatment and sent back to residential which I can't afford so I'm probably gonna be homeless. Wow. Sorry I hijacked your post OP.
Moral of my rant: don't . Just don't say anything if you plan to follow through with ctb. You can tell them you've had suicidal ideation but NO plan. Then they won't toss you in psych. I've been in and out of psych several times so unfortunately I know how the system works.
True. I'm also in Germany and I told to a doctor and 2 psychologists about having suicidal thoughts or having informed myself on how to do it. They only gave advices but nothing more.Depends on where you live. Here in Germany, once you're 18, no one can force you to go to a psych ward.
I know exactly how you feel. It's been the same for me for years now.True. I'm also in Germany and I told to a doctor and 2 psychologists about having suicidal thoughts or having informed myself on how to do it. They only gave advices but nothing more.
I hoped that I would have received a better medical attention and treatment for the pain I'm experiencing, but nothing changed. They keep not taking me seriously.
That's just not true. Of course they will if they think that you will actually commit suicide:Here in Germany, once you're 18, no one can force you to go to a psych ward. It's your choice.
Good to know, thanks for the info. That's just not true. Of course they will if they think that you will actually commit suicide:
But being suicidal alone isn't a reason for getting forcefully put into the psych ward. It's in no country that i know about. If they don't think that you will actually do it, you can talk as much as you want. And seeing that you are still here, they did act accordingly.allgemeinarzt-online.de

yes, I assumed that it depends from doctor to doctor. Since having a forced hospitalization would have an impact on the private life of the patient, some doctors might be more tolerant than others and they don't send an alarm at the first sign. I was quite desperate those times when I broke down to tears in front of them, but it's wise not to disclose too much. I would not like that they could keep an eye on me and limit what I can buy. That's just not true. Of course they will if they think that you will actually commit suicide:
ChlamydiaWhat's the most you can share with a doctor, without getting committed?
True, i think most experienced doctors just know that a psych ward doesn't really help you. The social stigma of getting forced into one alone is a huge issue that doesn't make your situation any better.Since having a forced hospitalization would have an impact on the private life of the patient, some doctors might be more tolerant than others
