Im CTB next month.
But i dont want people to find me.
I live in the UK so i cant get a flight without knowing.
I own a car and plan to drive somewhere remote and far away.
How can i leave as little of a trace.
Ive got cash for the journey and plan on getting a PAYG sim so i can use my GPS on my phone.
Any other tips i may have overlooked?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I mean, just from what I know, you have to go on a cash only basis. Credit cards and online transactions can be traced. Go off social media, delete them and maybe log out of your Google accounts because the tracking feature it has is crazy. If people are more likely to look for you asap, try to change your features to make it harder to identify you. Word spreads quick.

Apart from sim identifiers, phones also send their unique IMEI to cellular network. If you ever used your personal sim card with this phone, using another sim (not linked to your ID) with the same phone may have little sense, it will not stop the police from revealing your approximate last location, it will just add an additional step in their investigation.

The Lake District is a good place to disappear to. A deep lake maybe. but your phone will be tracked easily if you dont destroy it

Northern Canada or northern russia, so vast , you will disappear easily, even if your SI kick in , you might never be able to get out of the woods or find somebody to save you.

That's one of my option , flying to Nunavut and walking days non stop in the toundra and get lost forever.

Best way to disappear completley would be slowly going more and more inactive from social media then deleting them, if you do it right it shouldn't raise much attention or you can completely ditch the phone, that's what's gonna be your #1 enemy since if someone calls the Suicide Hotline they are just gonna ping your phone for example or if you go missing, With cash go Cash only no credit cards as they can be linked back to you and if you are seen buying obvious CTB supplies last minute yk they can trace that back, completley isolating yourself from the internet before your CTB would be your best choice of action and make sure to distance from family friends and social media as well.

I'm not too familiar with the UK, but it seems like the Scottish Highlands would be a good place to disappear. Very few living there so less of a chance of running into someone.

My original plan was America, but of my previous MH problems ive decided to stay domestically.

im only really 'active' on one social media so shouldn't be too hard to slip through the cracks (unless you count TikTok :') ) I need to disappear for 48 hours, as it takes 12 hours to get where im going. Its hard to find a hotel in uk that takes cash booking especially after COVID. but fuel and food is easy to obtain with cash. Ive picked a place where theres 0 cell signal. So i will send out some pre written messages then CTB. Ive got my supplies for CTB, had them for a while to see if it raises suspicion but it hasn't. Thanks for the reply much appreciated

I believe that the automatic number-plate recognition system can be used to track down missing people, though obviously they would only look if they had a reason to.

I presume that most smartphones stop emitting any radio signals when you activate the flight mode or switch the device off.

Probably still traceable for the people who need to.

As long as your mobile has a battery in it it'll 'ping' the 'phone masts as you travel, giving your route to where you are going until you finally enter the no signal area.
Either remove the battery entirely, or buy a Faraday pouch to block its signals. Even a vacuum flask should serve as a makeshift Faraday cage.
Best wishes for a successful journey and peaceful end.

I wrote a detailed plan on where/how I'll make sure I disappear and all the steps I'm taking to never be found. Its still not even complete. I have to be 100% that my remains will never be found, and once they're found then all bets are off because they're matching people's DNAs against genealogical databases, and finding out their identities that way.

you can let the cell phone work for you, send it with ringtones off, but network registered to a fictional adress aboad. Undeliverable shipments usually do not come back from abroad but are destroyed. In the meantime, the battery will run out of power and your phone will finally be registered somewhere abroad. You gain time and leave a false trail. Always pay in cash and dont use phones, own car .... Take cash paid train, bus or bike to reach your last place on earth.
