I have Mortons neuromas in my feet and have had severe pain since July. No doctor ever offered me anything for pain relief except Ibuprofen which did not work. I had cortisone shots and they made the whole thing worse. I have been at home for three and a half months. I finally got a consultation for surgery at my local clinic and the surgeon barely knew what a Mortons neuroma is and said the surgery was a low risk one and there was little danger of a stump neuroma forming. That however, is wrong and the risk is 35%. Stump neuromas cause severe neuropathic pain in the foot (it feels like it is burning.)
I have a consultation at another clinic that actually knows what it is doing. However, I would have to wait another 6 months for the surgery on my right foot and 9 months for my left foot.
The pain is pretty bad and I cannot work or walk for more than 10 minutes.
What would you do?
