Depression and anxiety, that's just from the GP though. I think they just use it as a blanket term for anything tbh.
Been waiting for an assessment for autism about six months now, it's a long wait to see mental health professionals here so I don't bother with them.

Generalized anxiety disorder and depression. However I went to dr for simple panic attacks and that stuff didn't happen till I started the awful meds I was convinced I needed.

I took this long and maddeningly repetitive psychological test, three hours worth of questions as it was required to get into this pain management program, and the psychologist said "according to your results you are very depressed". I just stared at him like "no shit". Didn't need to get carpal tunnel clicking answers to sort that gem of wisdom.
Lmao

I haven't been to a shrink in two years and when I saw (two), I never received a diagnosis, although If I had to choose a DSM label for myself I would say BPD traits, and major depression with social anxiety.

Really, though, I prefer to diagnose myself with "maladjustment disorder" and "hypersensitivity" because I can't stand the DSM labeling nonsense, but those aren't quite descriptive enough to account for the complexity of my past and current situation.

I just never fit in, I guess. I like to leave it at that. Sometimes I even think I am more sane than the lunatics running this planet.

Here's this gem, " You know, people that have terminal cancer exhibit a lot mental illness symptoms and possibly the onset of certain disorders."
It took every bit of restraint I had not to knock him right out of the chair.

Jesus...you know, much like the general population not EVERYONE who is a healthcare "provider" is shit, but damned if just like the general population there are a LOT of dickheads in the profession.

My oncologist is much better to talk to than the mental health pros around here. He knows, he sees the suffering and pain firsthand. He gets it and understands very well. He's not necessarily pro-choice, but he's not judgemental either.

That is one of the worst things I have EVER heard, and I admire your restraint to not knock him off his chair, or worse.

Thank God for that, at least.

Life, the most dreadful disease of them all with a 100% mortality rate.

May sound like gibberish among all the serious answers here but life can be a disease if it becomes miserable and painful.

Hard to get rid of, harder to live through, even the good things like movies or music are just a distraction to avoid thinking about your disease for a moment.

I was diagnosed with life and probably have severe depression, schizoid disorder and anxiety.

I picked Other & Chronic Pain.

I can't be too specific because my ailment was pretty rare and thus recognizable. But it was something in my brain, I survived but then my epilepsy really kicked in and it was just game over.

Sounds familiar. When I got diagnosed with cancer at age 30 they also sent me to a psychiatrist. I guess part of it was that I made it clear to be "done with life so I wouldn't mind dying". But I got the message loud and clear that I would die a horrible death if I would decline the surgical knife. It was a one-time psych visit and I was healed after one long surgery. The worst had yet to come but I won't bother you with that now. Will only tell that they tried everything to put me into the mental health system while I was convinced there was something totally completely structurally wrong in my body. Knifes, electric shocks from top to toe etc. Took me f**ing 10 years to find a doc making a scan of my neck and turned out I was an emergency case for screws in my neck (deeply pressed spinal cord). I was rrrrright!! (according to them I was making things up after the cancer but I was so f**ing sure I wasn't - decade of HELL!)

Shit, I think I have that one too. Right...another thing to worry about. Of course. Hits keep coming.
I've heard going out for walks, exercising and thinking lots of positive things helps with relieving the symptoms and pains of this disease. Hadn't worked for me though, maybe mine is a bit resistant to home remedies
