I receive a low salary, but I barely spend money on something non essential and what's left accumulates month by month, adding up and becoming another indicator of how bizarre my life is. Money is the number one problem for so many people and i'm here, unable to do anything with it besides eating. How could I, at least, alleviate my pain?

I know how important saving money is and how I could do some big things with it, like getting a house somewhere or moving to another country, but I don't have enough for it and it would still need a long time to do so. In the meanwhile, I can't live in such a state of misery. besides, I don't plan to live that long.

So, the question remains: What can I do with money to alleviate my life?

I do think a gym memberhsip could help, if you can get yourself to go to the gym sometimes. At PLanet Fitness they are $10/month, or $22/ month for the membership that includes the massage beds- to me the unlimited use of the massage beds is worthb it for this price. This could alleviate some pain, at this or another gym.

Maybe going out to lunch with someone could help, if you have someone to go out to lunch with.

Maybe some nice jogging shoes, and you could go jogging and meet some people this way, and maybe pet their dogs while they are walking them.

I used to go to the gym some years ago, but doing repetitive exercises is something difficult for me. I the movement once, twice, and in the third time I already start to think about the purpose of it. Soon I'm thinking about the purpose of everything and I have no energy to proceed. It may sound weird, but it's a real problem that makes it really difficult to do these sort of things.

Going on a jog with no purpose makes me do the same, but I trick myself into going to a far place to do something I need to.

I go out to eat sometimes, but I don't find much joy on it :(

The purpose of the exercise, which may not be easy to focus on at the time, i that help yo to get stronger and feel better, though the payoff isn't immediate, it takes a couple days of recovery before you get this result. If you're going out to eat with someone else yo can talk about things, joke around about things- eating out by yourself may not have much joy in it. I know that once you have certain mental habits about how to think about things that it may not be easy to change, but you might be able to change how you think about things some and make some progress. I'm not really sure how to best go about this.

Some ideas:

Clothes, shoes: are you happy with your wardrobe? Dressing well can make us feel good too. Most people end up having have some stuff they don't want or don't use anymore, you can always throw away these items and get new things.

Furniture and house items: the same thing applies, you can renew furniture, clutery and other trivial objetcs, you could get a new paint and new objects to decorate your house or room.

Car: do you have a car or motorcycle? if you have, what about a upgrade even if you don't need one? can you afford it? I know its a bit more expensive.

Food: even if you don't have the most fun of the world eating out, everyone wants to eat something especial once in a while, be it icecream or a fancy dinner, you can eat out or even order something by delivery. I know most people often makes a social event out of eating especial things, by doing it with friends, but it doesn't need to be.

What kind of hobbies do you have?

Depends on what you want to achieve.

Great fear of dying of hunger and lack of basic necessities due to unforeseen circumstances (hyperinflation, war, medical expenses) = save
Great fear of not having money after retirement assuming you want to live that long? = Invest, Insurance
Do you still find dopamine in buying new stuff? = spend
Dopamine on new experiences? = Travel, buy tickets for experiences
But currently, my mind is telling me to use what little money I earn to volunteer in charities and help other people in need, I don't know why my mind right now is where its at but I guess it's giving me a sense worth idk

If you like the idea of buying a home but don't have quite enough maybe you can get a mortgage with what you do have. Is that an option?

Doesn't have to be a house. A small property on a little piece of land or just an apartment somewhere perhaps. Thinking out loud.

Hah. I told a relative of mine this exact thing last year (money sleeping in bank account), and his normie suggestion was to invest it in stocks, crypto etc. I asked him "ok, and I ll end up with even more money I dont know what to spend on, then what?" and he was genuinely speechless. Depressed people problems I guess.

Crypto is way too volatile. If you have a lot of money, then studying crypto and maybe putting 10% of what you have into it can pay off if you get lucky and time it right.

So, the question remains: What can I do with money to alleviate my life?

If you are concerned about where the world is going - with possible supply chain issues and food shortages - you could stock up on supplies that you will need for the next 15 years. For example, you could buy duplicates of everything that you use often, like tooth brushes, micro wave ovens, other kitchen ware, shaving gear, laptops, sleeping bags, blankets and so on. Also, don't forget the consumables, like toothpaste, headache tables, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, shoes.

With the little money I have, I have bought duplicates of everything that I have, except for the phone, TV and lamp lights. In case I perish, I will be sure to give my belongings to my nephews before that.

Thank you all for your answers. I guess the question was way too open from the beginning and I don't even remember what I was thinking at the time. I wasn't in a good moment at all.

For a better understanding of my situation, I barely take joy from anything at all and buying new things won't give me any joy, so I don't have any reason to do it. Going out with people requires... people to go out with. This a very complicated part of my life and most of the time I'm around people makes me feel worse than alone. Only some specific people are good companies, but some circumstances prevent me from being around them.

I already tried everything mentioned in here and nothing helped at all.

I just see that amount over there and think about how I could make my life be less miserable.

Sorry for my rambling and erratic words. I just don't feel well.

You are not less of a human being for feeling lost.

Is your question, then - "what is the point of spending my money, when all I really wish for is human company?"...? Perhaps a good middle ground would be to get a social pet - like a dog

I honestly think the exercise is overrated, i was doing it for a few months and apart a leg injury i got nothing of it, you just feel a bit better while you're doing it, after that it's the same story and sometimes you feel even worse. I would try maybe activities with people, groups, we need people, we need connections.

Do you feel like donating to a charity would bring you some joy? Knowing that you helped someone else? Anything that brings you joy can be seen as an improvement to your life. I don't buy a lot of things either. But I sometimes donate to charity. (not very often really, and not that much) Not necessarily the big ones, think of your local animal shelter for instance. It's just an idea. Hope you can think of something that can improve your life.

You could try over the counter pain killers, not healthy but might alleviate some pain. If you are like me and pretty much despise the company of most human beings, perhaps a pet could help allievate some depression. If you really want to get rid of some money, you're welcome to send me some, if you would like haha jk.
