i've looked over the methods and i think partial suspension hanging is the most reliable and accessible. i need a place to do it, but for now i just want to know what i should use for the noose.

I've purchased a strong nylon rope which can hold 200lbs and will put cloth between the rope and neck to prevent pain. A slip knot is best.

I purchased mine at a hardware store (Home Depot). They have an entire rope section where you can select material and strength. Nylon felt the best because it's soft and smooth and can hold hundreds of pounds.

How ironic this looks like the one I bought 5-6 years ago when I was 18-19 and wanted to hang myself, I was looking into drop hanging to break my neck I remember having this in my drawer already made a noose ready to go and going for walks in the woods early in the morning when the sun got up looking for the right tree "sigh.." I should have done it back then I had my depression which gave a great fuel to the thought of suicide and now 6 years later I regret not having done it.

Personally, I'm using 2 men's leather belts attached to each other, one for my neck, the other to secure around whatever will hold me up. It may work, may not depending on your neck, but this is what works for Me

so i found a plastic cord, will that work?

Is it strong enough to support your weight? I also advise against thin cords, they just hurt the neck and don't apply enough pressure.

I may break such rope, since I'm beyond 250 lbs (and 6'3")
