Let's say that after you die, you are approached by someone holding a clipboard who tells you you're about to reincarnate back into the same exact life you just lived, but as a consolation prize, you get to change one singular thing about it this time around.

What would it be?

My Mum wouldn't die when I was 3.

How about you?

I'd choose to have the option to permanently erase my existence so I never suffer ever again, I have no interest in being burdened with this existence rather I only hope and wish for non-existence, I just want all to be gone and forgotten about for me. Personally I find it deeply undesirable to exist at all, the way I see it existence just creates suffering all for the sake of it and problems there was never a need for at all, only ceasing to exist can personally bring me peace, to me existence just feels like a terrible, tragic mistake that just causes endless amounts of cruelty and suffering.

I think I would make it so that I now have the ability to know exactly how people feel about me. Maybe this is a stupid choice but so much of the pain I've endured has come from flopping social interactions and assuming everyone was cool with me when in some cases they were just making fun of me. It would also help to know which women in my life have had a thing for me, if any. At least with this ability I'd be able to clear up all doubt and maybe even kill myself sooner in my life.

Yeah, I feel ya. Never having to be born at all would be ideal.

I don't think it's stupid. It'd definitely prevent a lot of unnecessary grief to know right off the bat who's trustworthy and who isn't.

I would have never met the man who caused my stroke from an assault from a dating website.

I would ask for a father that pushed me as kid, a father that wouldn't give in to his child's laziness and greed. I attribute a lot of my suffering to my poor work ethic and struggle to self-discipline. Perhaps having a father work to instill those qualities in my youth would make me a little less lazy.

That's awful, I'm so sorry. I hope the piece of shit responsible gets what he deserves 🫂

Can relate, my work ethic isn't very good either and it's definitely not as easy to develop as an adult.
