early 2010s social media. tumblr was full of blogs about self harm, anorexia and depression/suicidal thoughts. before instagram became so censored u could find content like that there too. at first i think it used to be as easy as just looking up "#selfharm" to find photos and videos of people cutting. i remember people using "#blythe" as like a code word to post suicidal content under when instagram started banning hashtags. back then i had a secret twitter acc for stuff like this.
