For what's going around my neck I've settled with a noose knot, but I don't know what to choose from to tie around the ligature (in my case a tree branch). I'm thinking of tying a constrictor knot and then with the rest of the rope tie another knot, this time a bowline. Apparently the constrictor knot literally cannot come undone and people a lot of times have to cut it away with a knife, but even if it somehow unties due to my body moving all around the place, the rope will be caught by the bowline. Can anyone who researched this or is an expert at knot tying chime in. I don't want to do something stupid and for the entire thing to come undone.

I've done a bit of research on hanging, but I haven't worked with knots, so take all this with a grain of salt. Most sources that I've looked at say that the specific knot isn't all that important so long as it's secure - I think your idea is sound, although I'm not sure if using multiple knots will have that much of an advantage. You might also want to look at the water bowline knot which is apparently more secure than the normal bowline (https://www.animatedknots.com/water-bowline-knot). Good luck, and I also suggest you make sure you've researched your method because I've found that there are a lot of complications. I found lostallhope.com to be a good resource.

Tbh you seem very knowledgeable already, with some highly advanced (maybe even overkill) knots mentioned.

Not an expert but I would go with this one.

Tried looking at the website, but the method section seems down. Also, what could go wrong? If you are in the middle of nowhere and rope is strong + the knots are tied correctly there seems to be zero chances of failure.

Not an expert but I would go with this one.

Wow this seems to be the one... Will replace bowline with this. Thanks!

Hmm. Maybe try this link? https://lostallhope.com/suicide-methods/hanging

I agree that there's no structural issue so long as the components are sufficiently strong, but to minimize pain it seems to be pretty important that the rope is positioned to compress the carotid and not just suffocate you. I haven't done a super large amount of research on this front, but looking through the hanging megathread and related question threads it looks like it's pretty hard to get right (at least for partial suspension).
