Discussion What is your favorite sad or depressed melodies?

I love sad melodies, from a simple composers, and movies and video game soundtracks. my favorite instrument is piano. Whenever I'm sad I like to play them and then be more connected to my feelings and remember the mental breakdowns i had and when my life was good.

recent ones i listened to that i can think of right now are only these. i dont listen to much sad melodies actually, i mostly listen to happy pop songs to fantasize & disassociate from my already sad life lol! i dont like being reminded of reality but while sad they can be such beautiful sounding melodies too so i still try to listen to my old favorites from time to time

My favorite one is No Surprises by Radiohead. It always seems to pop up when something bad happens, but now it's become weirdly comforting. There's something soft about it, especially one of the last lyrics-- this is my final fit, my final bellyache.

It was for an OC the artist made that was meant as a follow up to Corrosion. The main character of both songs killed his bf and now he's having suicidal thoughts because his homicidal tendencies actually had consequences for him mentally for the first time. That, and it was also a vent song for the artist.
