I don't care much about fashion. I once told a friend that I didn't care what I wore. They corrected me- that I in fact cared a great deal and tried to dress to disappear! All dark colours. Nothing too flamboyant.
Mostly now, I'll dress for comfort. Even if going out now. I just avoid places I ought to look smart in. I'm scruffy at home because my (creative) job is messy. I'm only marginally better if I do happen to go out. It will still likely be something casual and boring but at least, not covered in paint or glue!
I'm also content to be single now so, the need to try and impress a guy has (thankfully) gone.
So- how about you? Is your personality reflected in what you wear? Or, is what you wear at odds with how you feel? Maybe you have to present professionally and together when, you don't feel it at all. Do your clothes bring you confidence or, make you feel akward? My brief tries with feminine clothing made me feel uncomfortable.
Does your physical shape affect things? My brief interest in clothing tied in to when I lost weight. When I'm (more commonly) overweight, I just think everything looks terrible so, I can't get enthused about things. I hate clothes shopping in fact. Some relatives never understood that because- no matter their size, they made the effort to look their best.
What's your most outrageous clothing purchase? I loved the look of two jackets in a shop once. They were kind of hippie I suppose. Made out of colourful fabrics stitched together. They also had pointed hoods- like elf hats. One was patchwork- like 'Elmer the Elephant' for those who know the children's story. The other was slightly more muted. I think I wore the muted one a couple of times out but, they were a stupid purchase really.
I also bought some very high heels in a sale once. Also- utter insanity. I could barely stand in them, let alone walk!
And a very cool t shirt with an octopus on but again, the fabric is too clingy for someone of my dimensions. It still looks cool though, just displayed on a hanger.
So- how important are clothes to you? Are they just practical, annoying or an important part of expressing yourself?
The poll is kind of crap and limited really. I couldn't think of much to add. Not being very fashion orientated.
