I wish parents and other adults would be realistic and say...look this is what's possible for u to live a reasonably decent life under the statist system of control. Other than the things that people already said in here, I believed for a long time that I was a very intelligent person because my parents and teachers said that to me frequently. Well, turns out that I'm not. I think that people should have already figured it out in this century that being a nerd doesn't equal smart. Not all smart people are nerds, and it just makes sense that not all nerds are necessarily smart. Just because I like studying doesn't mean that I'm good at it, and realizing that the hard way because people didn't tell me the truth before was a heavy blow to my self esteem.
