Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin's spokesperson, says that Moscow has special services at work which have been tasked with obtaining more information about Trump's remarks.

Sonic weaponry uses intense sound waves to debilitate opponents. Some use focused, painful sound beams in direct attacks, while others use higher-pitched frequencies to target specific age groups with varying hearing ranges.

The weapons can cause headaches, balance problems, confusion, and permanent hearing damage.

"We all started bleeding from the nose," the witness continued. "Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move. We couldn't even stand up after that sonic weapon — or whatever it was."

He added that he had "never seen anything like it."

President Donald Trump has revealed that the US military used a new weapon system—the "Discombobulator"—during the military operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro from his residence in the capital Caracas earlier this month successfully without losing a single American life. "The Discombobulator. I'm not allowed to talk about it," Trump told the New York Post during an exclusive interview in the Oval Office.
"I would love to," the president added, before confirming its use in the stealth operation.
Trump claimed that the weapon "made [Venezuela's] equipment not work," suggesting that the new system was able to disable and disrupt the Venezuelan air defence and radar systems and allowed US forces to carry out the raid with near-impunity.

it was pretty clear from the start that the operation was a show of force, flexing to China to send a message.
also, the US military's greatest weapon is its propaganda machine: fear. Same with the CIA. Now that said they obviously do still employ a lot of dirty tricks and super advanced classified cutting edge tech.

…Part of what makes the US military so powerful is partly the illusion of power. You always want to make your enemy think that you are more powerful than you actually are…

I mean the Manhattan project. The government probably has some motherfuckin' crazy weapons.

But seriously watch that video. Its also not exactly "new," per se

I'd have to dig things up and I'm too lazy and uninterested at the moment to do so... but for years now there have been reports of mysterious sonic devices or microwave devices that have caused these kinds of things. I think there was something Cuba at one point and an incident at an American embassy somewhere. I have vague recollections of reports of people experiencing these kinds of symptoms in another country and wondering what had happened.

I just assume this is an offshoot of all that. So not new, but definitely new to have a government admit to using it purposefully against opposition.

Normally if you had something super significant you'd want to keep it secret because once the cat's out of the bag everyone starts developing their version... but in this case it seems like Trump probably is more interested in bragging about it than keeping a secret. His administration is kind of bad at keeping secrets in general... so maybe trying to scare other nations with a show of force and demonstrating a new weapon or whatever.

But, this shit is just going down an increasingly dark path... and eventually someone is going to stand up to the US and the shit will hit the fan.
