I fear injury, but haven't found many examples, or explanations of the possibilities of different attempts.

I feel I don't have a good way to ask, I am so sorry

I would say most common injuries are brain damage, or organ damage, depending on the methods used. If the method is jumping probably broken bones are very likely among other physical injuries.

The answer would always be: It depends.
Some methods could be mild flesh wounds to vegetable state.
It is always wise to read up a bit and do your own research on methods that spark your interest.
Maybe listening to survivor accounts and post mortem analysis.

Deep in the Carbon Monoxide Megathread several users mention that brain injury symptoms can take up to 30 days to appear after CO poisoning.

Thr is a LOT of information on this site that will answer your question. Use the search function. Basically, most methods can go wrong and leave you badly injured. That's why, if you ar going to ctb, it's important that you plan it carefully.

Break every single bone in your body, live in a vegetative state for the rest of you life. The list goes on, and on, and on.

Depending on the method, the injuries change.

I'll tell you mine after jumping from the 7th floor.

I broke all the bones in my legs, I lost the right one up to the level of my balls. Broken hip, 2 crushed lumbar vertebrae and a kidney detached from its place.

After trying with nitrogen Bell's palsy, although I don't know if it was that or the disappointment of failing again.

I threw up blood after trying to overdose on my meds and mixing it with alcohol. I was binging and purging a lot at the time though, so I already had serious issues with digestion. My parents ended up having to replace the entire carpet in the room where I puked on the floor. I apparently also puked blood on one of the paramedics when they were getting me into the ambulance. When I was getting a chest x-ray at the ER, I puked all over the machine too. I don't really have any permanent damage from that attempt but it was incredibly painful. I was told that I was screaming something along the lines of "it burns like fire" while puking up blood.

I didn't know SS, so I started thinking about it and I thought that if I put a bag on my head, being closed and gas constantly entering, it would end up exploding, my option was an airtight mask of the kind used for CPAP (sleep apnea) there was no leaks in the mask, the problem was the pressure reducer. Even though the regulator was sold by the same nitrogen supplier, it didn't seem like a very solid connection. I used Teflon and tightened the nut with a wrench, however, when I lost consciousness the bottle would move or hit it and that caused a leak between the cylinder and regulator. I cried when I woke up hours later and discovered that the bottle was empty... But I don't understand, the car was sealed and even if it didn't reach my nose directly I should have been breathing in what was escaping... it cost me €350 for the attempt. .. a shame.

I'm not sure if my facial paralysis was caused by the nitrogen, it's almost non-existent after 1 month.

@Onelegman You think the nitrogen tank got disconnected from the pressure regulator after you passed out?

Yes, I think so, the cylinder and where it was resting was soaked with condensate gas
