I have lots of reason to be nearly 100% sure there is an afterlife (so lets say 98% sure to be reasonable), including that I have clinically died from a rape attack where I was drugged. I also have 20 years personal research and tangible proof consciousness exists outside the body, repeatedly daily for years on end and using random images a computer derived from online images (so photos gotten from online which could be anything) to experiment with. And images people picked for me and were aware of the content but I was not, and tons of other tests of all natures. I am not here to convince anyone of that, so I will leave it out. But for me I know what I know to be true. I also personally believe there is reincarnation to earth as well, but only in human form and not over and over. Just till you clear physical karma. But that I cannot prove scientifically even to myself. So I *believe* it versus know it.

So yeah, comparing it to a reset button could be right. But you might be aware of yourself the same as while alive once you die. That is my experience. Once out of the body, you are 100% the same and might not even know you have died or are out of your body. (But physical issues would not be the same in this case, so if you die with a broken arm, I am saying the arm will not be "broken" once dead in most cases, I would think.)

As long as this progress is not saved, I am good with trying out different options in life.

And if I fail, then I'll see you here as jaemus13 and so on every time I fail the reset.

You might consider jaemus14 to avoid bad luck as they do in skyscrapers.

Some people believe in a multiverse in which this is the case—Infinite variations of each moment splintering off / Infinite possibilities running parallel. Maybe the physical universe, our bodies, matter etc. is created by our consciousness so we have no choice but to continue even after this reality is done away with. Our consciousness a specific arrangement of cells or energy that resurfaces again after death.

And I do feel that rebirth/ reincarnation could be the case because I often dream so vividly with its own past and an entirely different set of circumstances of this reality with absolutely no awareness of the real world's events/memories.

When taking mushrooms I had moments of total amnesia of my life and past / complete loss of self.

My point is just because we have no remembrance of past selves / lives doesn't mean they don't exist - could just be total amnesia.

I prefer to see multiverse as multiple universes existing with their own rules, potential different living beings and stuff existing in each. Sounds more fun to me.

That reincarnation stuff? Seems so pointless when you won't know anything from your previous life. Who knows it may be just as horrible if not worse in my next life.

All those countless trillions of stars are for the after life. (Heaven's)

We're spiritual beings having a physical experience.

You gotta go through hell before you get to heaven, otherwise why would you appreciate any of it?

That's true but why does there even need to be spiritual beings experiencing the physical in the first place? What does it prove?

If you were born straight into a non physical form where you fly and appear by thought you wouldn't appreciate that because it's all you've known, just like a kid who doesn't appreciate the things his billionaire parents get him, alternatively it serves as punishment to those who seek evil out of the body.

If you mean living the EXACT same life over and over again after you die, that would be horrible. But yeah, I would prefer a new start, in a different world, over nothingness.

Ok but not everyone is capable of appreciating their life. Like they are just set up to fail nomatter what they do. Innocent children, unfortunate people , etc. What's the point of that?

I'm going to forgo a philosophical perspective here. Sometimes music is much better at expressing ideas.
"And if I told you how this story ends
Would you change a step you take?
And if I could relive all of my days
I'd live them all the same
'Cause I'm scared
Of all that I don't know
'Cause I want it all, but all of it ain't gold
And I'm scared
But I know it's not for long
'Cause I'm learning what I should've long before

That all we are
Is a light into the darkness
And all we are
Is time that's counting down
And all we are
Is falling through the spaces in between
Endless flight
A lifetime in repeat"
-Circles, EDEN.
Yep, conveys that helplessness much better than anything I could have come up with.

I really dislike the thought of an afterlife, but reincarnation doesn't sound horrible. Maybe I can connect with my old friend as a different being and start over, and hopefully keep her as a friend instead of throwing everything away. But that's only if reincarnation is real. Other than that, I want to stop existing altogether.

That's one of my biggest fears. You know when you forget a memory but you don't forget the feeling you had then? Ever since I was a kid, I always had that feeling about what's coming, and it might be just a coincidence, but here I am at the brink of killing myself. I'm afraid I'm either in a loop or things are preset.
