I ignored a thread and it didn't show up again so I was thinking if I ignore someone I would stop seeing posts from them but would they stop seeing posts from me too? I don't want them to see posts from me anymore. Can someone tell if I should block or ignore so that noone of us sees eachother? And I don't know if blocking option exists so if it does please help me find it.
Thanks in advance for the reply

Where is that button which says *show ignore content*? And you meant there is no blocking option?

When you hover over a member's name in a thread, a box pops-up with an "ignore user" button.

sadly it doesnt and people disagree with it but wont properly explain why even though it could prevent harassment (maybe im wording the question poorly and they dont understand, but i have no idea how else i could word it, or they just disagree and even though i brought up a good point refuse to change their mind and just ignore me instead because they dont actually have an answer)

no, they cant tell. i know im on a list or 2 because theyve said it and im sure im probably on more then that but outside of common sense, i dont actually know. and ignored people still comment on my posts which reinforces they dont know (or dont care, but considering idk, its probably they dont know too)

If you are talking about asking questions and receiving unwanted answers then I am just trying to ignore things that sometimes make me feel bad. I feel it's making things worse for me although I want to keep reading threads and post sometimes.

I am sorry that it happened with you. I didn't they can comment then is there some other option to completely remove eachother from the server for eachother? Like go invisible for eachother?

thats what they disagree with, https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/block-feature.70653
I checked it I am sorry that it happened with you. I don't know what I should say but there should be an option to block because the other person wouldn't even know what you posted so there would be no hurting eachother but maybe the person who blocked someone could mislead others and the other person would still not know so maybe that's why? But it's okay as I am not receiving comments on my threads I was just seeing threads so I can ignore the person as they are not commenting posting in my thread but their own and that comes up when a new comment is posted so I think I will be able to manage.

If someone is still being inconsiderate then you can report it to mods I think with screen captures of it.

oh thats exactly why, and i understand that. but just because the person that did the blocking doesnt know doesnt mean that other members of the site dont know. if other members of the site know and their biggest reason is "it cant be reported" then they arent reporting it allowing for the abuse to continue and if its that easy to fix (someone thats not the victims reports it) so people dont have problems, i dont understand why it cant be. it honestly comes off as "i just dont want to report it"

That's true others can report if someone misuses it. There must be some reasons for it. Maybe they will do something about it.

And others would report I don't know either why they don't and I can also find offensive threads sometimes feels like we don't have problems with it.

The ignore function that already exists on this forum is fine. If you ignore an user or a thread you cannot see any of the content so it cannot bother you in any way.

There is no blocking function on here and they shouldn't be. It's unfair as other people can make the forum difficult to read for you if such a thing existed. If posts are missing from threads then many threads will likely not make sense and will be impossible to follow. This defeats the whole purpose of a forum in the first place. I've posted about this before somewhere else on the forum.
But wouldn't it be selfish if everyone else on the forum blocked us from every thread. Then there would be no forum for us, so this is why a block function would be a bad idea.

I would say no, but don't know that for sure. I can't fathom why it would work that way if the other party did not ignore you. I think you would each have to ignore each other for neither of you to see each other's posts. No other option that I'm aware.
