Myself: I used to run away from my problems, i would just wake-up one morning, and then decide to fly off to a country for a short or month long holiday. I would literally book a flight and pack my bags in less than 30 minutes, get an uber to the airport, 2-3 hours later, and I am in the air going to a country that does not require a visa.

It cost me fortunes. I am now forced to stay in my country, and forced to deal with my problem at home. If it wasnt for covid, i would've still doing it.

What good did the pandemic bring into your life?

Stimulus checks. Felt less ashamed about constantly staying in. More EBT funds. Masks so I don't have to show off my face. There's more good shit that happened this year but it's more or less unrelated to the virus.

I met my boyfriend during the pandemic but the pandemic had nothing to do with it. Other than that I think everybody's been somewhat negatively affected by Covid except maybe the elite rich.

Nothing has changed, everything is the same, except for having to wear a mask in a certain retail store, which I hate because by the time I come out, I am gasping for air.

Face masks! The perfect cold weather accessory, I hate feeling the wind on my face. I also very much enjoy not showing half my face

Nothing really I mean I am a bit less socially anxious with the mask on since I like anonymity but everything else sucks because of covid.

I have been able to explore my city and get into somewhat more dangerous places without fear. I have enjoyed places that are usually full of people (museums, tourist places ...) I have appreciated human stupidity a little more and understood apocalyptic movies that I thought were rubbish. I have become useless for society and the lack of money is noticeable but at the same time it's giving me time to explore other options.

Not having to go to uni in person. Everyone else thought it was the worst thing ever but my disabled ass was so happy because for the first time in my life I'm not being scolded for lack of attendance due to being sick.

Less pressure to get a job. Although now I recognise part-time work would probably help me at this point in my now hermitic life.

I lost 10kg during first lockdown, losing all the weight my medication made me put on. Got me back into cryptocurrency and now I'm volunteering online in an attempt not to go stir crazy.

More negatives than positives but some goods come of it.

I've always been into CompSci. But where I'm from, law jobs in the public sector are overvalued and CompSci jobs, while still better than the average, are just not in the same level. The way you get one of these jobs is by passing an exam with a top ~0.5% score.

My smart-ass 17 y.o. figured I could go through Law School, dedicate 8 hours a day doing something I don't really like and maybe program as hobby.

I finished college late 2019, then studied 8~12 hours a day for a year and had a burnout.

I realized 8~12 hours is pretty much a job, and if I could barely do it for a year, there's no way I could do it for 40.

After a short break, I decided I would try to go back to uni to study CompSci, which is what I'm planning to do next year. I kinda dig the idea of being a digital nomad, getting to visit new places while playing poker tournaments on the way, but I don't think I'd have the guts or the energy to do that. I also like it that CompSci is a more adequate degree if I ever attempt to emigrate to a better country. Of course, there's a high risk that 10 years from now I'm making 3~5 times less that I would otherwise, but I don't really care about the money.

One of these exams was supposed to have happened in July and another in October, but covid pushed them back indefinitely. Had they happened, maybe there would be no burnout and I'd still be on the path to becoming a slave to bureaucracy. Hell, maybe I still am and don't know yet. If that's the case, then covid was bad. Else, it was good.

What good did the pandemic bring into your life?
Covid hasn't been an issue, though the lock-downs have created suffering and societal breakdown that I fear people now just accept. People are warmed up to the idea of laying beneath a jackboot and I feel sorry for people.

As for me: I barely noticed an effect on me; my life is solitude and that's a good thing I feel. I just realize there is more to the world than me.

I suppose wearing a scarf over my face is a pretty neat idea. REMEMBER: It's face coverings, not (exclusively) face masks.

I'll say during the early period of covid, the attendance rules were lifted, so it delayed the penalties for showing up late for work or being absent. Which allowed me spend my time down in Illinois with my family. That and EBT and the stimulus.
