I put a lot of hours into Terraria, skyrim, fallout series, GTA, Sims, City skylines, Jurassic World Ark, Minecraft, WoW (not for years), and tons of random app games. I am probably forgetting some.

Pokemon and Smash Bros.

I don't play online much in either game but I do love beating AIs.

Minecraft definitely. I wish I knew how many hours I played of it but probably a big percentage of my life.

I don't play games that require any planning or attention span that often. I probably play two games per year that require me to use any real in depth brainpower.

Games that fit that criteria are Rocket League, Fifa, NHL, Tetris, Solitaire, Sudoku, Mario Kart and shit like that. I normally listen to music or a youtube video while I play and zone the fuck out.

Skyrim is cool, The Witcher 3 was similar, I never play these games online. I prefer linear games now like Tomb Raider, Gears of War, Resident Evil etc. as open world ends up feeling like a chore, too much shit to do. Hollow Knight was probably my favorite game I played in the past few years, and RE7.

I rarely read or watch movies anymore either, my attention span is toast.

I wish I could play proper games but I am just to crap at them, so stick to roblox when my attention span allows me too, I used to try sims 4 but found I would get distracted and board after half an hour

Mostly strategy games like Eu4, Hoi4, Vic2 but also Medieval/Empire Total War and Civ 5. They make me larp as someone who actually did something with his life

Guild Wars 2 these days, though I've not been logging on much of late. If I have nothing else to help, it allows me to focus my mind and allay anxiety for a while.

Some good shit there. Terraria is such an underrated game imo.

My backlog is huge right now but I've been trying to finish up a couple of the Fire Emblem titles lately.

I'm 'old' yet i play Pokemon Go...
I'm a solitary player-
A few years back i was more able to walk further with my dog and i'd hit pokestops.
Now i couch-play, remote raid, use lures... since i'm basically stuck in my house due to anxiety/agoraphobia and medical issues/pain... it's a fun game to play to wile away the hours- especially when there's an event.
I also play "Yahtzee With Friends" on my phone.
Board games- i love banana-grams and Rummikub. Especially Rummikub! I kick *ss at that! It challenges the mind.

Oh my god. I've played like 200 hours of hoi4 and still barely have a clue what I'm doing lol.
So I stick to Wargame: Red Dragon, it's a good substitute.

Oh, that's the one I forgot! Stardew valley is absolutely amazing. I've put a lot of hours into this one as well, and is awesome that both stardew and terraria are iPad games now too.

Roblox is cool. I play it with the kids a lot. I really like how many types of games there are, and those basically whatever you're looking for as far as gaming preferences. Man do those games ravage my iPad battery though lol

Usually games where you have enough time to think what your next move will be.
I.e. I now play Tower of Time, an RPG, and when you hit the 'pause' button everything goes in slow-mo and gives you plenty of time to think out your next strategy.
MP online shooters otoh is impossible, you need to be 100% focused, alert all the time. I get slaughterd on those ;)

I always thought EU4 was very immersive, its possible to play it for a long time and it never seems to get old. You could burn yourself out on it but pick it up a few months later and it will be fun again especially with the DLC - some of which is even f2p. I didn't care for stellaris as much. And also any fallout game

Those that require resource management in addition to mounting. Time flies by with the city skylines and planet coaster. Sometimes in the Gmod in sandbox mode I build a story and build according to it.
