Wondering what else I could add to my regimen for treating anhedonia, depression is always gonna be there because that's the nature of hell after all.

Honestly?

I have tried many drugs.....

Fluoxetine - Didnt do a thing
Cymbalta - Messed me up, don't touch it!!!!
Duloxetine - as above, messed me up!!!

Citalopram - helpe by about 10%. Not good.

Effexor XR - worked fast and brilliantly for about 9 months. The withdrawals are hell but it really helped me at the time. It did make me restless and agitated but as for major depressive disorder and well.. lack of function and feeling like i was permanently at rock bottom, it did lift my mood and gave me more energy. Didn't fix my life but it did something, which was shocking

Trazodone - Same as effexor. It helped about 50%. Didn't stop me being suicidal and attempting suicide but I slept better and functioned a bit better.

5HTP - Nothing
St Johns Wort - Nothing

there are lots more. Honestl i'm trying to think of all of the names and i'm stuck as can't remember them all but i've tried most of the common ones. I'm on Agomelatine right now and again, maybe 15% difference. I'm still going to CTB. I give up on meds helping me get out of this, it simply wont happen now, but I do feel like it's worth trying effexor and trazadone. the SSRI's are not gonna do much, I wouldnt waste time on those TBH. maybe it's different for others but personally.... i dont have faith in SSRI. SNRI's are better, as are tricyclics

Maybe try an antipsychotic with it. Venlafaxine does work but I've been on it 10 years now so time for a change.

ADHD meds will help in the short run possibly for some years but then they quit working and u have to keep upping the dose. It's not something u can stay on forever especially as u get older your body can't tolerate the effects as well. But if u take it very infrequently they can be of use sometimes on a tough day. The trick is not to take it too often so they remain effective and u aren't having severe withdrawal when u don't take it.

No drugs have helped me with anhedonia. Well, I don't know what effect the drugs I take really have. I did recover somewhat from anhedonia that was induced by ECT (I believe) but I think it was just time that healed.
