What does it feel like to go unconscious? I hear so many people talking about backing out of hangings because they get scared once they start going unconscious. Is it a dizzy feeling?

The fear of losing control and the realization of 'oh shit, i'm really going to die' is what I think they meant by 'scared', but don't take my words for it. This is what they call 'survival instinct'.

Was it scary? I would think it's peaceful bc you're no longer focused on emotionally pain

For me it was fear of this is it... and once I lose consciousness I don't have any control of what my body will do (live or die)

I'm a control freak too and i just hate to loose control of my body.

It feels like endless falling to me when it happens slowly...

But i got knocked out once by a football to the head. Didn't remember anything. It was like milliseconds

I've been both been both unconscious (few hours) and in a coma (for a few days).

In both cases I OD'd. I just remember taking a lot of medication and crossing my fingers that whatever I was experiencing would stop. Eventually things get hazy, you don't have a recollection of fading out of consciousness. It is definitely nothing like falling asleep.

For the coma situation, I actually ended up wandering around for a little and was found late in the day. I was told at the hospital I was in a coma there for a few days, they had to hook me on a machine to see if I also had seizures or brain damage.

Partial suspension and I was stopped by a random individual who thought he had the right to intervene and then the police turned up.

No offence, but if you do it in a place where a random person can see you, I don't think you can really blame them for putting a stop to it. Why should some random person have to live with the knowledge that they could have stopped some person from dying and they didn't? I am pro-choice, but I would not feel comfortable at all being put in that position.

And many places actually have laws where if you do not prevent someone from dying, you can be held accountable (although these laws are probably aimed at preventing accidental deaths).

I was in a warehouse that I own although it hasn't been in use for sometime and this person had broken in. I was unaware that anyone was in there to stop me before I took my steps forward.

Just blood rush to the head with tight pressure on neck. Then when you pass out it comes so quick you don't feel anything while passed out.

My vision became very blurry and I became hot. I realized if I would have lost consciousness if I continued.

I also realized the timing was wrong. I did it then because I was home alone for several hours but I was content and didn't want to die at that moment. So if you do it, only do it when you're in so much distres the survival instinct isn't an issue.

There are some techniques to experience passing out by hyperventilating.
I can't find the corresponding video right now, but if you do a little research you should be able to find the right one.

Obviously it depends on how you go about it, but for me it was a case of "l wonder if this is where the carotid artery is?" to being completely out of it within seconds. No painful or panicky transition between a slight dizzying and being flat out.

So it wasn't painful? I feel like a lot of people choose partial suspension

How did it happen?

Upright partial, knees bent, leaned into knot, testing how to press against artery, out between five and ten seconds, like an off switch.

I thought the knot was supposed to be behind your neck? How did you wake up?

I wasn't planning anything more than a test, partial wasn't my original choice but l read some of the resources on here and thought I'd see if it was as easy as described, but in so doing l hadn't affixed the bath robe belt tightly enough to the smooth, flat door handle. Whilst l took great comfort from discovering it was as simple as described, l was also disappointed that l was very close to accidental success and would now have to drum up courage to finish the deal.

As regards knot placement, l placed mine to the right of the Adam's apple, where I'd already located the carotid with my fingers, and pushed against that with the noose tight around my neck. This is what worked for me, might be different for others.
