What do you think the world would be like if CTB were easy?

What if someone found a peaceful and fast way to CTB that everyone could access? I guess at first the forum was filled with goodbye threads. Afterwards, millions of people would make CTB with a synergetic effect all over the world. Wage slaves living in the Middle East and Asia eventually became the CTB. I think the average intelligence of humanity would decline rapidly. The crime rate would increase. Eventually civilization would collapse and Mad Max took the stage. Perhaps the authorities would have had to establish a system aimed at human satisfaction. What do you think?

I think for some people like myself who already have the means to end my life already I think it'll be like most people just try to live despite having that option. Of course I'm assuming a good percentage of the population may become suicidal and even attempt/succeed because of how much suffering there is. It's really hard to predict. It should also be noted that at first, most people will be quite eager to observe what is going to happen. Maybe I would be one of them. But still CTB in the near future because I don't want to live as old.

I think if ctb was easy, people would begin to realise that life is just a pointless struggle for the sake of it and they would realise how meaningless life really is. Many people live under a delusion that life is always worth living and having easily accessible ctb would shatter that delusion. I believe that the society would lose most of their workers as I think that many people would choose ctb over torturous jobs if ctb was easily accessible. I wish ctb was easier. All I want is to peacefully end my suffering. I am tired of living.

The functions of being alive like breathing are involuntary. It's the default state. Easy is also subjective to how much you have suffered, or your pain tolerance. Someone who has tried before or has knowledge of neck anatomy might try slitting their throat while others would be deeply afraid of that method. Something fully pain-free frankly doesn't exist. Even if the method itself is rather peaceful, your feelings related to feeling like you need to leave life will mess with the peacefulness. Unless it was just an instant death button people could press on an impulsive streak I don't think it would change much in the world.

I agree that IQ would decrease and crime rates would increase.
I disagree that society would collapse. It would just become more authoritarian and micro-managed.
The suicide rate wouldn't go up that much though. Maybe double or triple, still a small portion of the population. SI is strong.

Those people live despite their circumstances. Seems like no matter how fucked their lives are, they chose to live. I bet you could give them a gram of heroin in a syringe, and very few would shoot the whole thing and just be done with life.

oh, maybe I'm just looking at it from my bias/perspective. if my condition doesnt improve I will become homeless bc I cannot function. i cannot work. I cannotsocialize. .and a lot of homeless people get beat up and raped and impregnated and filled with disease, and my condition is so bad that I want to ctb now while my parents are still alive, (aka I'm not homeless yet) but if I was homeless I would definitely be desparate to ctb bc I am so small and I could not fend for myself and would definitely end up getting hurt/tortured. if heroin was guarenteed to do it I would definitely take that in a heart beat. but I see too many stories about people ending up as vegitables from street drug overdoses so I would be scared I'd have my illness plus be a vegitable. plus I'm such a loser I have no friends aka no ppl that could get me heroin any way lol

I think they are not alive because they prefer to live. The SI starts to panic when you give them a gram of fentanyl. But if CTB were as easy as pushing a button, they would do it impulsively at any point in their lives. A lot of members here have N but still CTB is not easy. Because you can't impulsively drink N all of a sudden. A preparatory phase is required. This phase is also sufficient time for SI. The question is for a CTB as easy as pushing a button, hypothetically. That's what I mean by "easy".

Yes, if it was easier to access the likes of Nembutal more deaths may occur. In saying that it would also save a lot of lives. Dr Philip Nitschke even pointed out that just having access to a substance, like Nembutal, SN, in your cupboard gives people a peaceful feeling because it is there when they need it.

Civilization collapse because of reduction of overpopulation - no I think the opposite would occur - we are heading for an overpopulation disaster and a sixth mass extinction due to overpopulation so if many people died there would be no collapse and no overpopulation disaster. Civilization is short-lived - only the stone age man lived in the right way. However, our pets get a fast and peaceful death at the veterinarian by lethal injection, which should also be performed on humans.
