Boredom makes me so suicidal... And I'm often too bored to do anything that would make me feel less bored, if that makes sense at all. So what do you do to keep boredom at bay? It seems like almost nothing can keep my attention nowadays

Come to SS forum. Play video games. Read. Contemplate suicide. Shovel pills down throat. Sleep. Repeat.

Usually try to watch something - TV show or movie. Or watch any sport if there is something on.

If that fails, I literally just go for a walk no matter the weather or try and see someone. I'll get bored of the person I see or from the walk and will want to go home and relax and eat. But I'll always somehow be less bored than I was before. Weird.

Never really have a problem with boredom. I usually spend time on SS and listen to music, don't need a lot of stimulation. If I'm taking a long walk or am in the gym I don't get bored, no music or anything either. I prefer the computer to just sitting and doing nothing, though. I can spend several hours hanging out in the forest without doing anything, too.

I know that feeling so damn well. It's like a vicious cycle and it's really hard to get yourself out of it. Maybe you could try reading? I know it sounds too complicated and you probably feel like you don't have enough energy to do it, but you never know unless you try!

I've never been a big fan of reading, but lately I've noticed that it helps a lot. If you're like me, you wouldn't believe me when I say that some books have the ability to transport you to another world, but that's precisely what happens. Please note that it's also important to find out what kind of books could have this effect on you. We can't enjoy every single book we read... just like we can't enjoy every movie/TV show that we watch.

However, I have to admit that they're not as effective as I would like them to be in the long term. As soon as I put them down, I'm back to the emptiness where I was before I started reading. Still, they're good enough when it comes to distracting yourself for a while and making your days go by faster. :)

I've recently started reading ASOIAF by George R.R Martin since I was a fan of the series and it is really good and engaging but I take a lot of breaks or else I'll read something and it won't even register, I constantly have to reread the same page

These days, I genuinely don't feel mentally capable of doing much of anything. I couldn't sleep last night so early this morning I went on a really long walk and just sat beside the river in silence and cried my heart out. If I feel capable enough, I will watch a documentary or listen to music and scroll through my phone for stuff to read and research. It's all pretty damn uninteresting though.

I feel you. Unless you make it a regular habit, it's going to be like this. I remember how much I struggled in the beginning because I couldn't focus, so I always had to reread the same pages like you do... but as you keep reading, it will become more and more natural, and soon enough you'll see that you can read more with less effort.

By the way, nice choice! I've never read ASOIAF since I pretty much know the plot, but it definitely has to be engaging. I've been reading Dostoyevsky and Goethe instead. They're amazing!

Drink, do drugs, fap and play games. I'm pretty much locked on to these. Too lazy to get involved into any task requiring additional complexity.

I started running and got a bike to do exercise and then got a n injury that has made me completely immobile so now I stare into space. I try and watch telly but I need way more of a distraction than anything that telly has. So I smoke weed all day and night. It takes the edge off but I don't have any retainable memory. So I suppose I'm saying I get smashed off my face all day. More to forget everything than because I'm bored.

Because it was a most heinous crime against humanity. (I didn't, it was just a joke)

I used to get bored but realized that that was because I didn't have enough things in which I was interested. For instance, I could be a NEET 24/7 because gaming, studying japanese, reading random stuff on wikipedia, reading manga and watching anime/tv shows can consume all of my time.
If I ever ctb, boredom will not be one of the reasons I guess lol.

Chat on various platforms. Stare at my ceiling. Sleep. Sometimes research metaphysical/conspiracy theories. Sometimes watch an NFL or NBA game.

I would exercise and stuff, but that is a commitment towards living. Not ready to make that yet.

With all the idle time I have, I need to research the subject of meditation more deeply. However, I am just too lazy and depressed.

I can hardly enjoy anything anymore, but taking nostalgia trips is nice to keep me from being too bored. Like, I don't like to read new books, but rereading books that I read as a kid makes me happy. Or I can't get into new games but I love playing the ones I liked from growing up. Things like that.

Mainly get myself annoyed with the state of humanity by browsing twitter (I should really delete my account) Apart from that play computer games, read books or get drunk. Also have an aquarium which keeps me busy sometimes.

Yeh when my friends tell me they can't concentrate when reading, I liken it to a muscle that needs training. Only becomes pleasureable when you've worked out enough.

Only Dostoevsky book I've read is Crime and Punishment which was amazing. Which of his others would you most recommend?
