• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I've just been thinking to myself, have I really ever attempted? Like how would you guys quantify an attempt?

As for me i tend to do things that sort of "push the boundary" such as taking one or two more (ever increasing btw) than my prescribed medicine says I should or taking extreme risks.

Would you guys count these as attempts or just living life risky?

I would say an attempt is when you mostly intend killing yourself with whatever you do. I would say pointing a gun to your head first intending to shoot but the deciding not to or making your way to the place you are going to jump from but don't make it all the way there or just don't jump and turn back is still attempt even tho you didn't hurt yourself in anyway as there was intention in that period of time. I won't know whether to say yours is an attempt or not or living life risky. I guess it depends on whether you are intending to die from it or just not caring how you harm yourself.

I agree with the others, I think the key word is 'intention'. If you intend to succeed, then it's an attempt

Taking an action with the intention to end your life. I have taken a massive dose of acetaminophen before but I did not expect it to work and I even had the antidote on hand. I would consider this to be a suicidal gesture rather than a genuine attempt.

I have OD'd, jumped in a pool with weights tied to my legs with a rifle, hung myself... to me, those were attempts. Failed attempts, but they were attempts.

For me an attempt is when you go for it for example hanging you threw the chair, gunshot you pulled the trigger, jumping you jumped, sn/n/any poison or od you swallowed it/injected it
