• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

as if some stranger, who gets paid to talk to me, can magically help me save and fix my life.
it's good that suicide hotlines exist for people who have FIXABLE problems.
but they don't do shit for people with unfixable problems... like amputees and stuff...
"oh, don't give up, i'm sure your legs will grow back, and if they don't, then maybe just get a new hobby or something".

that's a sarcastic, exaggerated example, but that's how i think of these hotlines.

what's your experience with them?
and another thing: i highly doubt they truly are anonymous.
i would bet money they are NOT anonymous, even if they claim to be

It wasn't a 'call' exactly but last year I went to the 988 website and did a text chat with the people who work there a few times.

I'm sure they're decent enough people but it kind of defeats the purpose if you know the person trying to help you is just saying what they were told to.

When I was a kid I once called a youth crisis hotline number I saw on a hospital wall. The line was dead. Never tried calling any crisis line ever in my life after that. Just showed how much they truly care.
I don't know how much these hotlines help people but instead of me it could've been a kid on a rooftop ready to jump and the only thing they needed is someone to listen...

Peer support hotlines are your way to go. Sometimes they can even connect you to helpful resources. The national hotline in the USA sucks.
