what do “messages” mean on our profiles

I've been here almost a year and I've always wondered; what is the "messages" count next to the reaction scores?

Is it the amount of times we've posted and replied/commented? Or like chatroom messages, sorry guys I'm slow

it is the amount of times we have posted and replied/commented
