What disturbs you?

I had a moment today. I was staring at a picture of wide, empty beach and it disturbed me. I felt like something was wrong, like it was reminding me of something awful that my brain has buried and refuses to remember. Despite being part of an advert for some kind of island paradise, it gave me the same vibes as one of those liminal space images. Although, I usually enjoy those liminal space images and I most certainly did not enjoy that beach image. Weird stuff.

So, what odd things disturb you?

Closed doors. I hate being in a room with the door closed. Obviously front doors have to be closed and locked for security, but doors inside the house need to be open.

I take too many meds - I have to admit - and also suffer from chronic insomnia and today when I was getting up I looked over at my note board and it looked as if it was melting and tripping down from my wall - all wavy. Crazy stuff. Scary what the mind can do - hallucinations disturb me a lot.

Weirdly, I picture 'heaven' as an infinitely wide beach. It crops up in dreams and the sky is green.

Just the fact that we exist in the first place is disturbing to me. As for things that may seem odd, certain people's loud voices. Also the sounds of lawnmowers and ambulances. One of the things I fear is pregnancy. I also am disturbed by old age, I never want to grow old.

If you don't mind me asking, what scary videos.? I've seen some on YouTube but with Halloween coming, I'd like to watch more. BTW, the scariest movie I have ever seen was " The Changeling."
It was made in 1980 but it's the creepiest movie I ever watched. No special effects, just a haunted house and great acting.

I used to like Chills, Top15s and Top 5 Unknowns, but in recent times their videos are really low quality compared to what they once were.

There's probably lots more channels you can find through a quick search as well.

The things that disturb me include fake smiles, fake niceties (including small talk), humans touching me without my consent, animal cruelty, how humans prey on those who are different, the glamorization of existence, procreation, and old age; the imposition of constant optimism, mindless conformity, neurotypicals trying to convert neurodivergents into neurotypical clones, mental health enforcers reprograming "patients" into cheerful, compliant, social slaves; and finally, the breeders' blatant disregard for the countless suffering, inevitable death, and lack of consent whenever forcing someone into existence (via reproduction).

No joke! Humans are the most terrifying monsters on the planet!

Dying a slow painful death is enough to give me anxiety but being surrounded by people as well with my social anxiety. omg I can't imagine.

The fact that anyone can tell a blatant lie and as long as they are popular enough, it gets blindly taken as truth. If you're not popular, you can present all the evidence in the world and instead of attacking your argument/evidence, they'll just attack you instead until you're alone or dead.

Neat. I am the opposite. Ever since I was little I've had this feeling something was going to reach out and snag me if I left doors open. If I'm walking through a hallway I feel uneasy walking past open doors. If my bedroom door is open I won't know if something is coming inside to harm me.

I was listening to this podcast where they talked about the origins of life and the possibility of life on other planets and such and they brought up the possibility that humans could "seed" life on other planets by sending the chemical building blocks of life there. And they were doing this in such a casual and carefree way that I found it highly disturbing. As if it wasn't the WORST POSSIBLE IDEA EVER. Jfc, what kind of a psychopath do you have to be to want to replicate planet earth.
